Right - I can cut objects with an outline but not solid fill like this attachment. How do I put an outline round it for cutting?
Are you there yet Doreen? have you cut?
Maw Maws legacy has a lot of SVG files that we can use for free:lol:
Rosemary - the short answer to SVG files is no, if you want to email me to discuss this further please do.
Sue - stop trying to run before you can walk, I haven't had time to check that out yet  To turn off the fill, look along the colours at the bottom, on the far left is a white box with a red cross in it, right click on this and select 'Set Fill', now there is no fill.
Doreen - stick to black and red for now I know they work. To find out what the RGB value is for a colour, select the line and open the Fill and Stroke box you can see the values there. I would upload a picture but at the moment with an Internet speed of 165kb per sec I'll be lucky to post this and this is the second time I've typed all this out, flippin Virgin media
Yee Ha i just got it to work, my problem seems to have been the color of the cutline which was grey, i changede the fill and stroke both to black and yipeeeeeeeeeee it has worked such a clean smooth cut, thanks to everyone for thier input.

What a twit I am:lol::lol:, it's so simple when you know how thanks Lucille
Mine were black so I've never had to change them. I don't like outline because of the stray lines that appear, I don't always trust they aren't mine
Oh Doreen I am so pleased that you got there in the end and that is what counts and it makes a huge difference to cutting.
Am I right in thinking that we can take any vector graphic and cut or draw from Inkscape?
