As far as I understand they are inducing her,but early..rather than her being over due...something to do with blood probs through her pregnancy..
i was induced at 39 weeks cos my sugar levels had been & still were, high..but when they examined me they said i was over a centimetre dilated but still used the gel inducement anyway..that was 8.30 am..they monitored me n Abi all day and told me I wouldnt have her for another 24 hours...
"cos ..(pointed to 2 others)..they are further along labour wise than you...and theres already 7 in the labour ward...!!"
Lots of pain ensued till late at night ..eventually examined me at some point after 11pm ...just before examining me I was told.."for goodness sake Alison, calm down.."closely followed by.."oh my goodness..youre over 5 centimetres .." & rushed down to delivery room ..
Ade, DH ,arrived after a while and Abi arrived at 3 am...
OH yeah..and it was before the other 2 Mums that were ahead of me..!!!
I was induced with 6 out of the 10 of mine, 3 were caesereans, and 2 started off on their own 10 days late!! (Dont tell Heather but one of my inductions turned into an Emergency Caeserean, the other 2 were elective caesereans)..... The induced ones were born mid afternoon after starting me off early in the morning.
10 children! Wow Linda, I'm impressed.
 at all these stories - hopefully Heather is in the 'throws' of it now ;)
I was induced with DD due to med probs at 39 weeks but was about 2 cm dilated when taken for pessary. Had pessary at 10.30 am ish and had DD at 8.50 pm that night. Labour started at about 2 pm that day so fairly quick for a first. M/W told me that if I had anymore to make sure I wasn't too far from the hospital - says me sitting here 14 weeks preggers!!!
Heather knows the gender of her baby doesn't she? Don't think she's said though which I suppose is nice to tell peeps after she's given birth....
I wasn't induced but was very quick!
With DS1 my waters broke at about 7am. The hospital told us to in. Nothing had happened so they were finding me a bed. Contractions started 12 noon and DS1 was delivered at 3:33pm!!
Funily enough there wasn't time for much by the way of drugs!!
He would have been quicker but got stuck!!
With DS2 I felt uncomfortable at 6:30am had a few irregular contractions but hospital wanted me in due to history. Got to hospital and waters broke and DS2 was born at 8:05am on gas and air only!!
Not sure what would happen if we had another!
Think I would have to pay a live in Midwife!
Didn't start inducing til 5pm from what I've heard so far. No news yet. Poor perce- she'll have coloured in the ward by now- she was taking her watercolours :)
Sounds about right! They often take you in for an induction then say they are too busy so you have to wait - and they won't let you go home in the meantime
Good Luck Heather... hope you are both well!:wub::wub:
Quite proud of my labour:ph34r:... Contractions around 1am... both born before 8am and naturally weighing in at 3lb 10oz & 3lb 5oz... 7:43am Thomas and 7:52am Calum!
Was a point where I had to sign for a C-Section as Thomas(first born after his Great Grandad) was being an awkward little monster with his arm... but with Venthouse they were soon on their way!
Theatre was like a circus sideshow... nurses and doc's either coming off shift or just starting all popping in to see twins being born naturally!
Apparently nearly 10yrs ago it was quite rare for naturally concieved and natural born twins!
I was asked if I'd had IVF... at my age, I don't think so... was only 19 when they were born!:o
I wonder how Heather is this morning..???
