hi sweetie, I have a normal laminator for laminating documents etc... I have bought it from lidl. It has good results in smooth paper...when I have some time I will post a picture...not soon...sorry to much work!!!:( I want to try laminating using my press for ironing...more heat might have better results...
well these are my sentiments I've made using this technique...I think they turned out pretty well!!!
I used red, silver and gold foil and the card was a little sparkly...

Hi all, been reading through the posts, I use a laser printer to foil (was lucky enough my daughter rescued a laser printer from outside a doctors that were throwing it away - touch wood it has worked fine since I got it - 3 years ago) x
I have recently had a letter published in Creativity mag, Issue 20 page 36 where I have done this on the insert of an envelope, I have attached a close up of the pic x It was just hot laminated x
I would definately recommend it.
beautiful Leigh!!! very clever!!!
just came across this thread - also saw the hot foil demo at Newbury last year and was very tempted but my frient persuaded me to spend my money on other crafty goodies, however, most interested in the above threads. can you use ordinary foil, the sort that you use over glue pens??
I'm also really interested (and intrigued!) by this - and would also like to know what sort of foil you use...?
I use laser transfer foil. you can google it. it's very easy to use it. you just need a laminator and a black laser printer.
Thanks Marion - off to have a looksie !!
Hi,
I thought very long and hard before I bought the print wizard because it was a lot of money. However, now I have it I bought it at the NEC in March, I find it is wonderful, and very easy to use. I did a calligraphy course a few years ago and that maybe helped with getting on with the wizard, I do think that you need the Calligraphy nib and the fine nib though they don't come with the Wizard you have to purchase it seperately.
I hope this helps,
Jackie
Hi, I bought one of the Wizard Hot Foils and found it awkward to use. Hubby ended up making me a wooden holder because as I hold pens near to the nib I found it burnt my fingers. I couldn't get the hang of it either and ended up selling it on ebay. If you can get the hang of it it's a great little machine. However, there's a new kid on the block which is a laminator with variable heat and this is fab - costs around £150 though so it's quite expensive for what it is. Have tried the household laminator with foil I kept from when I had with the Wizard hot foil pen on a print out from my laser printer but it didn't work as the heat was insufficient. It caught the foil elsewhere on the page and spoilt the image. Haven't tried the iron jobby though so must have go - do you need any special foil?
