Yes please, MaryAnne! I currently have an X-cut guillotine, which is fine for card but can only cut up to A5. I also have a Dahle rotary cutter which has done sterling service for years, but the blade is blunting now, and despite an international search I cannot get a replacement which is useable! Also, the base and / or sides aren't quite true, so you have to be really careful to get square corners. DD has the X-cut 12 x 12 rotary trimmer, which feels a bit flimsy (the 12" extension keeps falling off!) but cuts OKQuote:

I'm looking to replace my Dahle, so I will watch this with interest. Perhaps a poll would be useful?
I'm seriously considering the MM one for my birthday next month. I've got a cheapy rotary cutter from argos and it doesn't cut straight!
i love my carl cutter - took me a while to get used to it though!
I've got the small (not mini) X-cut guillotine (free with magazine subscription) and it's fab. I also bought a bigger guillotine for 12x12 for £10 from Lidl and it's fab too. They both cut straight and clean which is more than I can say for the rubbish pink and green one I bought.
I use a line cutter which is basically a rotary blade fixed to a ruler and its great - cuts striaght every time and will trim the tiniest amount of something no problem. Only drawback is you have to have a cutting mat to cut on and to measure.
I do fancy the MM one but what weight is it? Is it siutable for taking to crops? Although I do most of my scrapping at home I don't want to find I couldn't take it to crops.
Some kind of library where we can compare cutters would be great :)
I'm watching this thread with interest as I'm trying to justify buying the MM one, I had a Carl rotary cutter but couldn't get on with it as it never seemed to cut straight. I now have a Fiskars trimmer and found it was fine at first but now doesn't cut straight either, and as a bit of a perfectionist, this really bugs me!
I've got the fiskars - have you tried rotating/changing the cutting strip? Thats what I have found is the reason when it goes a bit wonky.
I am so fed up with cutters!
Had the p craft one which I am not using now as its not cutting nicely same with the fiskars one. Went to staples and got a large rotary one, which cuts lovely but not square, this is a big issue for me I am fed up with it, alos if using thin paper they slip under the end!
Thinking of saving up for the MM one but would love to see one in the flesh!
I love my fiskars one sooooo much. The blades are so sharp (which i learnt to my peril yesterday as it plunged into my thumb) but its so acurate on the measuring so i can divide my 12x12 into 6x6 soooo easily
Same here, I have the provo one & fed up with buying new blade & then they only last a short time. I seem to cut PP them have to trim jagged edges off with scissors:angry: Drives me mad.Quote:

Which one have you got? Mine isn't the rotary type, it has a swing out arm which allows you to measure 12" but no matter how I try it doesn't cut straight! (no problems with the sharpness of the blade as the plaster on my finger testifies!)

I got the new one with the swing out arm from John Lewis (as i had a voucher to spend) But i have found that i dont line it up with the swing arm, just the top as the swing arm if you look at it isnt completely straight so it wont cut straight.
