a quick question though, the back of the linen card is smooth so what makes that better than using just normal smooth card?

I don't think Papermill do plain white card with the right surface so back of the linen card is best they do.Does mean you can't turn it over and use the other side when you get it wrong though, not that I do that often of course ;)
I use a plain white card bought from PaperMill's online shop, works really well for prismas and watercolouring.
from the papermill i bought a box filled with
a4 white linen effect x 2
a4 white leather effect
a4 white hammer effect and
a4 white plain
all cardstock and is very nice quality too
Just got my set of Prismas today - I think they ought to send a box of plasters with them, my fingers are in tatters!
I'm just sharpening as I play!
I've done 79 and the ends of my fingers are now numb - although I have a feeling that by the morning I will wish that I had just carried on, but I have admitted defeat for tonight!
I found a couple of plasters did the trick for me lol B) although me mate did ask if I was trying to do a Micheal Jackson impression :unsure:
