Font of the Week

Mailart Graphics is a handy little dingbat font for scrapbookers and altered artists as well.  The images would work great on an ATC and mimic the look of stamps. Have a look, and check the character map to pick the images with ease.

ImageJust a handful this week:

JaneH has a nice set of reviews of a few Art Jurnal books on her blog. It's always hard deciding to part with your cash so a review is always helpful!

rainbow_poppy has a cute Technique Tree mini-book. Very nice! Also a cute felt needle case.

Mole has a nice digi-layout from A True Friend challenge (pets)

Sponsor Sarah's Cards has a cute layout tutorial - love the doodled dots round the edge of the shaped paper! Using Crate Paper "Lillian"

Voodoo Vixen has a bit of a tutorial on covering board books - I still love this technique and she offers some helpful tips.

Celtic Angel has quite a selection of covered notebooks made as teacher gifts on her blog

Scrap like you mean it- 26 (Stickers)
Image Okay, I've double checked my maths and this week we really are halfway through 2009! And this week's challenge will be easy for some and troubling for others...
Scrap with Stickers!

Letter stickers, word stickers, flower stickers, border stickers, butterfly stickers, hello kitty stickers...you name it: if it's a sticker, then you're playing by the rules!

Digi girls...you can count 'sticker-like' digital elements, as in pretty much anything that is a stand-alone png/jpg that you would paste into your layout. The layout here is by stuff&nonsense - see it in her gallery by clicking the layout.
It's a quiet week for crop announcements but I'm sure I can rustle up a prize pack for one layout this week - so make sure your layout is in the gallery before the end of next Wednesday and has 'week 26' in the title!

Ready...steady...Scrap like you mean it!

Doodlebats

Image

We've featured Kevin&Amanda's site many times, but I just found these cute doodlebats in the Fonts for Peas section.   They would be useful for lots of things, not least as card toppers or embellishments.  The image is PeaDalovely Damanda Doodles and uses the z and the t.  Be sure to check out the doodle phrases for card sentiments or to use on journaling blocks.

Altered Jigsaw pieces

ImageNot much in the way of proper tutorials for these, but this ScrapJazz article will get you started

PDF from Kaiser Craft - nice, but not hugely detailed.

Very brief guide on eHow - maybe it will be expanded at some point!

Inspiration from around the web:

Puzzle piece book by LynnieMariePea and Christmas project by stampingmatilda on 2Ps

Another book by WendyK

Some lovely examples on Anne-ecdotes' blog (the link is just the image) and some very arty ones from blumoth (the image here is hers)

The Paper Girls challenge to alter a jigsaw piece - includes a printable template
