Mole’s Musing
Sometimes, when I survey the mess that is my craft-room desk (well, all right, the whole craft-room too LOL) I feel a little guilty that I’ve all these lovely bits and pieces and embellishments, but I haven’t used them on my layout.
All those blossoms, buttons and brads, the clips and cut-outs, the alphas and the arrows, the raffia, rub-ons and ribbons …. all that STUFF that I’ve accumulated over time …. shouldn’t it be on my page?
Some people seem to be able to cram loads of things onto their pages and it just looks ‘right’. But nine times out of ten, when I set out to produce a page, in spite of my good intentions at the start to use More Stuff, I don’t quite seem to manage it. Sometimes, I reason, this is because I have been sensible – I’ve arrived at a ‘look’ for my page which is balanced and uncluttered. It’s good to know when enough is enough.
Other times, I decide my page is finished, but I wish, deep down, that I’d been a bit more adventurous and made use of some of the undoubtedly fabby items I’ve begged/borrowed/bought over the years. I know less is supposed to be more, but aren’t there times, too, when more is more, and not too much?
I love some of the simple, clean pages I’ve seen posted in the gallery but I gaze longingly, too, at some of the ones that are simply bursting with embellishments.
Maybe I just have to accept that I’m a ‘clean lines’ girl at heart and that if that’s where my natural inclinations seem to lie, why worry. After all, if I want my boundaries pushing, and want to be ‘made’ to play with all those goodies, isn’t that what workshops and classes are for?
Cybercrop, anyone? |
