Might try a with versafine before cracking open the ink!
Is there anything on the Crafts U Love web site yet? Had a quick look, but couldn't see the starter kit.

Karen, I think you mayhave to call customer services to cancel your order. Hope it goes o.k..

Lee, thanks for letting us know, I don't think qvc are bothered at all!! I think I will try with brilliance/versafine ink and hopefully buy herma label off in the future as I'm sure I want to experiment with ink, or I might just send letterpress kit as I'm fed up with trying to find qk cleaning cloths in uk or us with reasonable shipping costs.

I sent an email to QVC regarding the cleaning problems and received the usual confirmatory message with a promise to contact me within 72 hours.

To my surprise I received a phone call from a representative saying that cleaning pads were available from the US and that QVC did not have stocks in this country. When I pointed out that the cleaning pads were $6.99 a box and that postage would be $12 plus any customs/postage charges she did say that she would contact the suppliers to see what they would do to provide the pads.

I did ask what the ink was made of and what they would suggest as an appropriate cleaner which would not damage the stamp face and thus invalidate the warranty and QVC said that they would ask the suppliers.

I have ordered the kit and will wait for an answer before using it. If I do keep it I will probably use the water wash-up inks that are available. They are slightly more expensive than the Letterpress ones but, once the cleaning pad costs are factored in, it will probably work out the same with much less hassle.

Once I get an answer from QVC I will post their response.

Thankx Susanroscoe for reply from qvc re cleaning cloths.
I've got my letterpress too but gutted can't use yet as no cleaning products.
Will have a play on Friday though - no free time yet. Hope everyone gets theirs soon.

Belindy, try with brilliance inks if you would like to have a go. It is so much fun! And you can combine different colours as well very easily.

Yes Paula I will still experiment with ink pads as I need to check whether the printing plates will crack or not (as I need to send bak if cracks within 30 days). Thanks for all your tips by the way.
