Wouldn't it be nice if we could have.....

Scrapbooking programs on the TV like the USA does??? We have nothing on tv to do with hobbies but QVC and create and craft. That is no inspiration to me at all here. I use to watch the DIY channel in amerca which had all sort of hobbies like quilt making, scrapbooking, cardmaking, knitting and so on. It was amazing. We need something like that here.

It would be a great idea, and introduce so many people to new things!

I do agree our TV is never on, it would be nice to see programs like this but the channels are obsessed with ratings rather than content.

Ooh love the webisodes links there are one or two that I know already but loads that I don't.

Craft TV Weekly is my fav as it is little project that are interesting.

I honestly don't think I could cope with watching more than 10 mins at a time which is why the webisodes are great for me. The Craft TV Weekly one also has project sheets to print off.

Also worth checking out iTunes, some of the videos from Craft TV Weekly are on there (I've downloaded 65 of them altogether to save), and there's some others too if you try a search. I even found a video the other week of someone demoing the Crop-a-dile - found it a lot easier to use after watching that than reading the instructions.

Craft TV is great, alot of the episodes are based on skills rather than particular Products. Check out the ones with Tricia Morris.

WOW lots to watch - thanks for posting these!

It is such a shame that we do not have any craft shows in the UK - would have thought that the daytime slots would be perfect for these (OK I know a lot of us work but we can record them!) but no one seems to have realised that there is a huge untapped market out there yet!

Showing my age now - they used to have that show many years ago called House Party (think it was on ITV), all these ladies would get together on an afternoon, set would look like someone's house, and they would do cooking, sewing and other crafts etc. just like they were at a mates place.

We need a show like that and it could be like a group of friends doing a crop or having a card making/crafting afternoon, so informal but with ideas/demo's etc.

I tend to find everytime I see Scrap-heap Challange advertised I think it says Scrapbook.

maybe it's time to approach some major tv companies to tell them what we want! I think it would take off.

Although I hope it's better than 'loose women' because I cannot stand that programme!

I think it was last year, but I started emailing various TV companies (and channels too) about getting some sort of Craft show programme off the ground. I got a few other scrappers & card makers to email them too. The general response (when they bothered to repond that is!) was "...Not interested... too limited an audience... blah blah blah".

I think the only way this could happen is if they saw the money-making potential from advertising etc and that would only happen if craft retailers told them how much money is spent on Crafting in the UK.

As I don't hve a clue how/where to get that sort of info, I can't think of how to make anything else happen.

Maybe we should all try emailing production companies again?

Regards

Glyn

I think that's rubbish as I know a lot of people would enjoy crafts on tv... maybe we should start a petition for people to sign or something.... I believe they would have a large viewing. Who knows. Maybe most of the people from these companies are MEN!!! I'm sure they could put something on the UK style or the channels who has the make over your house stuff.
