    Help needed Cutting out words

    Can anybody tell me how to cut out words what I mean is I can cut them out but what I want to do is to cut round the words so that they are left on the card and the background is cut away I hope somebody understands what I mean please help

    I can do this but have no idea how I can show you how: basically you draw the size of the card front you want to use and then on top of that you draw a box the size of the words you want to cut out, making sure it is in the position you want the final cut out to be in. The select both of the shapes you have drawn and Right Click and choose: Make Compound Path. Type the words you want to use (it only really works if you use capitals) and resize the word so that it overlaps slightly at the top and bottom (and the left and right too if you want) of the smaller box that you drew. Select everything and then Right Click and Choose Weld. That should do it!
