    Decopatch

Has anyone else tried Decopatch for altering stuff. I'm doing my car at the moment. Waiting for more supplies as I've used all the paper I could get locally and have had to order more.

Has anyone seen it on sale anywhere.

Yes I am, I always wanted a lilac car so I'm decopaging it in the paper that has lilacs and hydrangea's on, I'm so pleased with it so far, think it will take a few weeks, I have to track down enough paper too was hoping to do it all the same all over, otherwise I will have to do each section a different design. lol

I've given it a coat of yacht varnish, when it's all covered i'll give it a light sand then another coat and then sand and coat so it will have 3 coats which was always good on my Dads boat and that was in the salt water so I'm hoping it will be fine. We had torrential rain yesterday and the night before and it's fine so far though don't think I'll risk the car wash.

I keep having visions of racing down the M25 and leaving it behind like a snake shedding it's skin lol

OMG, brave girl - do you have to let the DVLA know about the change in colour?

That's brill stuff. I could cover DD guitar with that, might encourage her to practice more.

There's some great paper choices. Do you get instructions & after care/finish tips?

You have to let DVLA and your insurance company know if you change the colour, not sure at what point you have to let them know just over half I suppose, lol, will just send them a bit of the paper and let them decide what colour to call it.

As to instructions, there aren't any really, you just glue it on and glue over it, I've coated it in yacht varnish 1 coat at present which has withstood a thunderstorm and torrential rain so when its had 3 coats it should be pretty ok. A chap at Decopatch told me that if you use their water proof varnish 3 coats should make it dishwasher proof, (don't think it will fit in the dishwasher anyway) but I know that yacht varnish is good from boat experience in salt water so will go with what I know.

Glad you like it. The paper is 75p a sheet and the glue is £8 a bottle so any paper donations will always be gladly accepted especially as I've run out of supplies locally. I'm scouting around for more in different places. I reakon it will take around 100 sheets in all, as the photo shows I've done about 3/4 of the bonnet and that took 10 sheets and I have 30 more on order which should arrive soon.

    Thanks for looking

    Love Kate

Just a quick update on the car.

I've done all of the front and one side now and just starting on the boot. I'm after more paper at the moment, lol. I've just got the roof and the other side to do now. I have to say it's starting to look good well in my humble opinion anyway lol.

    Love Kate
