Temple du Scrap
I'm off to Paris this weekend for a few days - can't wait! I've heard of Temple du Scrap. Has anyone been and would you recommend it? Also, does anyone know of any other craft supplies shops in Paris?

I've been a few times. It's got a huge variety of stock but the prices are quite high. As far as manufacturers go they have most of the usual american makes and are therefore no cheaper than we are. However there are a couple of french makes that are reasonably priced. Take a 12 x 12 box with you- I have never seen so many papers in one shop.

Great karen. I'm limited to carry on luggage unfortunately so will have to be quite strong willed! Thinking probably stamps, ribbon, embellishments. Do you remember the name of the French makes?

I got some gorgeous stamps and decorative brads there. I wasn't that impressed with their papers but it was a while ago. However, my credit card didn't work there, not due to the shop but the stupid credit card company not liking me shopping in Paris, so make sure you have cash!! It's in a little side street but quite easy to find and not that far from the metro. Have fun! Didn't find any other craft shops, but there will be knitting shops around plus there is funky stationery and bits in lots of shops around Les Halles and the Marais where you can pick up bits if you are not strictly acid free - great for smash books too.

I haven't been there myself but have seen it mentioned in my espirit scrapbooking mag. Will you be going to Version Scrap at the Parc Floral, Vincennes on Friday or Saturday?
I'll be there with a very long list!

One brand to look out for is Kesiart. Their papers are lovely graphic designs, double sided. They also do stamps.

Thanks Lesley. Does anyone know which district the shop is in? Is it near any particular landmarks?

Address is 13 Rue Ernest Cresson, which is off Avenue du General Leclerc in the 14th arrondissement.
The shop is in a side road, part residential part retail, the street is easy to find with a map and there are plenty of bus stops/ metro stations within easy walking distance, depending on where you are coming from. I came from Denfert Rochereau and it took less than 10 minutes on foot. You can always use street view if you want to look in advance.
Have fun

Hi everyone - I'm back! I visited Temple du Scrap while in Paris. They have some interesting pieces although as others have said there are alot of American brands with high prices. They had a very good selections of wooden die cuts and some gorgeous clear stamp sets by a French brand - Les Editions Infocrea. They are collections of small stamps that are perfect for mini books and I had trouble limiting myself to 3 sets. They were 9.25 euros a set and have 20 + stamps per set. Of course any writing is in French but that will be good for my Paris mini album. Also, they do have a clearance section at the back of shop and I did manage to get a set of Fontwerks alpha stamps for 5 euros! Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
