Can't offset...

Proper miffed now. I need to offset a shape to make a frame and I can't do it in Robomaster or Studio.

My 5.1 robo has never liked doing it and I don't know why, never been able to get that to work, so I opened my GSD into Studio, checked the manual instructions, but no...that doesn't work either.

It's only a simple heart..nothing complicated.

Any ideas please peeps?

Lorraine, in your other post for setting cut lines I put up a pic to show you, the offset icon is showing on that pic as the very last on the right in the pic, hope that helps.

Hope that gets you sorted Lorraine. Though I will say that sometimes I am unable to Offset a shape and I it seems to be dependent on the way I created the shape. When that happens I either increase the size of the shape with the Scale tool (10th in from the right) and centralise the images or create the same shape another way.

Sorry, can't remember which way it is that will not Offset.

I updated my software the other day, and when i come to do the offset on the inside it wont work. Has anyone else had this problem

Lorraine, what shape is it and how did you create it? Maybe you could upload it to templates and someone else could try it which will determine if it is the shape or your software, maybe you need to uninstall and install afresh?

Thanks girls. I got the update yesterday too.

I found another heart and it offset OK, although it still won't do the original I tried with. It was only a normal GSD and if I could have done it in Robomaster, I would have done. However, this Studio just doesn't like hearts, lol. They were nowhere near each other on the screen but when they cut, they crossed over. I've wasted no end of card, so am just giving up on the hearts, lol.

I cut some plain hearts yesterday without an offset and they crossed over too.

Just tried the internal offset and that's fine.

Anyway, I'm off to weed some picket fences and maybe download Robo 5.1 again as I think, if I remember, I took this one off my old computer and the offset never worked. Maybe a new download will. If I remember rightly, Sylvia has a link to it.

Hmmmm, solved one problem. I hadn't moved Robo out so my cutting mat was hitting the wall. Doh!

If the hearts where made in RoboMaster using the Arc tool that might be the problem with the offset not working, just a guess because the Arc tool causes other problems as well.
