Memory Box Dies - which cutter?
Hi, I love the memory Box Dies but the cuttlebug is not very good. Would the Big Shot or the Grand Calibur do a better job?

Because some of the dies are intricate, you need extra shims, or the metal plate you can buy for this. But they will work with a CB, as thats the machine I have. I just use the metal plate and leave it in the sandwhich.

Hi, my bigshot cuts these dies well, but they should cut ok on the CB. As someone suggested - try using paper or card shims before buying a new die cutter! Gwen xxx

Have cut them on the bug and the GC and not had a problem with either aside from taking it through twice on the bug

I have a bug and have no problems. I put it through the machine using the base plate, plate C, die, paper/card, plate B, then turn it through 45 degrees and put it through again. That is usually enough, but if I need anything I put an extra sheet of card under the die. Hope that helps.

I have to use extra sheets of card with my Big shot too

It doesn't matter which shims or sandwiches I use it just doesn't cut everything even after 6 passes. Some things are just not worth it.

I love them and they cut well on my cuttlebug.

one of our craft club members was having problems with her memory box dies in her cuttlebug (v2).
Once we sandwiched so all the shims were underneath and all that was on top was her die & top plate they went through fine.

Mine works perfect on my new cuttlebug. I have just replaced mine as I think years of putting shims in has made it not work properly! I would have to run things through so many times on the old one that I would get bored! It wouldnt even do the cuttlebug embossing folders very well.
I have also just bought 4 of the memory box dies and they work just fine. I used the C plate and a B plate and only had to run it through once. I think after time the cuttlebug does tend to wear but so minimal that you dont notice it; hence mine just been replaced.

I have a couple of Memory Box dies and I love them! I use my cuttlebug and I find that the more you cut with them the better they become at cutting. I thought the same as you did at first, that the Cuttlebug was not going to work but if you keep cutting with them they work better and better each time. I also find that I run them through about 6 or 7 times and that helps. I just use the A,B,C plates when I cut, no shims needed. I put the die in face up so I can see when it seems to be cut through the paper. I was using mirri board and it cut it beautifully.

I have heaps and heaps of Memory Box dies - I think they're some of the best on the market.
I use mine with a big shot, and even the most intricate of them cut like butter !
