Font problem
I am trying to cut a script font and getting a jagged edge. Is there a way to overcome this or is it trial and error with regard to choice of font ? I am preparing my word in both RM and Inkscape but no difference. Thanks!

Hi
I think you've probably already have the answer in thinking it may be the font. Some certainly give better results than others. For me it becomes even more noticable if I've used the autotrace function to weld the words. One way to confirm that this is the issue might be to compare the results to a 'fat rounded font' that you know cuts well.
If really want a particular font it might need manual tracing over the worst spots to smooth it out.

I'm curious to know which font it is?

Thanks Ladies - manual tracing eh? Another thing I have to learn.
I tried a couple of script fonts, one particular one was called LainieDaySH, I was just practising welding because I wanted to do something original for Christmas. Wrote 'Joy' and managed to weld and cut but edges were very poor. Did compare it to a serif font and that cut beautifully but not what I wanted.
Anyone have tried and tested script fonts to recommend?

I've used that one, I assume you used the outline option to trace it as welded, that's a shame it didn't work, it is a really nice font.
Try a font called Amaze, that is a pretty one although I have never traced it!

This happened to me too the other day. Robo is on the computer upstairs and I can't remember which font, but it was something big and chunky. I was cutting out "Ho Ho Ho" - ended up looking like I'd cut it by hand (very badly), lol. These days are gone thanks to Robo.
