I use SU watercolour pencils and I love them you can get really intense colours also but light ones too, they re great for controling. There s some images on my blog altho I have to find my pad of watercolour papers(those pesky pixies have hidden it from me in my craft room somewhere)and do some on that cos you get far nicer results

BLUES BABE
Recently, I've taken to colouring mine in. I've invested in COPIC Markers (which are alcohol markers)........they are marvellous, scrummy...and whilst a bit of an investment, you can change the ends, and also get re-fills for them. They are so superdooper easy to use, and don't take too long to get the hang of.

i use the derwent watercolour pencils and wont use any other brand as they are fab. I have visited their factory/museum and felt like i was kid in a candy shop.

are you looking at me??
Prbably a stupid question but new to watercolour pencils - can you colour in then add water a few days later or does it need to be done when colouring - as i could watch tvand colour and then finish later if they can be left
Thanks - Jayne x

It's not a stupuid question. I frequently colour images in and return to them later to use the water. They are just so handy.

If you colour the image in first, you can apply the water anytime. That's how I started off colouring, but found that the colour wasn't always even after. I find the best way to watercolour is to scribble your pencil or crayon on scrap paper, then use your waterbrush to take the colour from the scribbled patch to the image. I find it gives a much better effect.
You'll find what suits you best with a little experimentation
