Stampbord
If you haven't tried it yet - why not? I love it and bought loads of it at the NEC yesterday after hunting for it for a couple of weeks. Here is a link to the manufacturers website (there may be others, I don't know!):

I was sent a 1/2 pound bag of different sized squares about 18months ago by my US friend. I have used one of them, but don#'t really know what to do with them, so haven't touched them since.
any ideas???????

I've found they're really good with detailed stamps. You can colour them with almost anything - inkpads, inks, colorwash, alcohol inks, watercolours?(not tried that one!). You can also stamp a background in colour, stamp main image in black Stazon, mask and then add a darker background. Then you can etch into the image - really good for adding highlights to detailed stamps - I just used a craft knife but there are special tools you can get. Best of all, if it goes wrong, just lightly sand it clean and start again! Then you can also add rub-ons and embellies.
That's what I've tried so far, but I'm sure there's more!
Have fun!

I use archival ink to stamp my images, and cover them in ultra thick when I've finished scratching!

Lots of lessons and tips to be found here.
I made about 6 pieces from stampbord last night. I used some hero arts flower stamps on some and tim holtz stamps on others. I haven't quite mastered the depth thing with stampbord but the website gives fantastic lessons, I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time.......
