Paint for an altered paint tin lid?

Just started to alter my first paint tin, but feel the rim of the lid needs a colour change to stop it looking silly. I'm pretty certain I can't paper this (without the risk of a lot of wrinking in application and damage in use) so thought I might paint it in a contrasting colour -- but no idea what sort of paint will stay on it!!! Any ideas gratefully received

Acrylic paint should do the trick... you may find lightly sanding first will help

Thanks..... will have to go visit my 'local from work' craft store again tomorrow -- they'll think I'm moving in soon, as I made 3 visits last week.... the first of them being on Wednesday after I decided to have a bash at the CC Bracelet Swap
