Def try before you buy - I had a go of the silent setter and thought it was pants - fine for hole punching but some types of eyelets just wouldn't set and I like to buy eyelets on th basis of them being the right size/colour/shape, not whether my setter is going to f*ck them up or not. My mm setter with hammer has never failed to set any eyelet, and is much quicker and less effort.

ETA: I am not feak and weeble in any way - big strapping bruiser of a girl, more like - so it was def the setter not me. Silence is overrated anyway!

I have the Moonshine Design set and that has a blooming great rubber mallet so I can out bag anyone But it's fab!!! Besides it's fun to annoy my children with MY noise for a change!!

Personally I make as much noise as possible to glory in the fact that i do not as yet have any ankle-biters of my own. I leave my stash all over the floor too! Sometimes I even drink alcohol on week nights.

I have a spring loaded eyelet setter which I absolutly love and it only the size of a large pen. Its not silent but it works great and is loads of fun to use.
