Gold leaf

I have a small amount of gold leaf from a Club Scrap kit a couple of years ago. I want to decorate the edges of a box with it, do I just use glue to stick it on?

dont you use stamp and stick

I'm not really sure I thought it had its own glue but as I said I dont know for sure

you are meant to use 'size' to apply it, which is like a thin runny gluey stuff...test a bit with some normal glue, it may work...I would think zig would work too, you are meant to leave the size to dry a while in the same way before adhering the leaf.

Thanks, I'll try zig as I want a patchy effect. I think I will try it on some scraps first to make sure I don't mess it all up

The sticky stamp glue works great too! You do need to heat it well though!

Make sure you let the Zig dry well first.

If it is still wet it won't work.

I quite often leave mine overnight before I add the gold leaf.

I tried a few things and found that gel medium worked the best, I am very happy with the results, thanks for the help everyone

Jane 'fess up, where did you get your Gel medium?

I bought it from Art from the Heart, mine is made by Windsor & Newton so you would probably find it in a decent art shop. I think one of the other makes I saw was Golden.
