Manchester Craft Shops
I am making a flying visit to Manchester on Saturday - can anyone recommend any shops where I might find good stash?

On a Stash Diet !!!
There are only 2 in the centre, and I was in both today. You've got a small craft section in Abakhan Fabrics on Oldham Street, and Fred Aldous (FA) on Lever Street. They're only about a 5 minute walk from each other.
However, neither carries 12x12 apart from kits and one K&Co paper (in FA), or packs of Mickey Mouse or Disney Princess themed sheets at Abakhan. In fact, neither of them is really geared up to scrapping (in my opion), although I did see Modge Podge -- which was mentioned on my question about lunch and paint tins -- in FA today. They've also got actual albums in for the first time ever -- a 12x12 with a wedding themed cover, and a smaller landscape rectangular one which looked as if it was aimed for filing young girl pages.
I was at both today meeting up with a contact from a card making forum -- they're my 'locals' from work, but I'm off this week so didn't need to rush the visit for once
What time are you 'passing' though? And how quickly??

I'll lend you my shoulders all your life...
Do you work in the city centre Cheryl? I do too - maybe we could meet up some time.
You are quite right FA are not at all geared up for scrapbooking - it seems to be passing them by. If you are going on the outskirts of Manchester though Gen let us know as there may be a couple of places further out you could visit.

Sue,
Just seen your 'Chorley Roses' blinkie, so think you probably live the same side of the city as me too....
I'm about 13 miles west of the city centre.....

Chocoholic scrapper
I'm afraid Cheryl is correct, Abakhan Fabrics and Fred Aldous are all you are going to get but at least they are on adjacent streets.
As a sewer I never miss Abakhan and have been to the big place in Wales and Fred Aldous is big but not scrapping specific.
Both are worth a peek if you are heading that way.
