    Decoupage question

I'm thinking of the kind of decoupage where you layer lots of papers and varnish them over...

How do you cover an oddly-shaped item? Do you stick it on first and then trim the paper? Or do you try to approximate the size and shape first, cut the paper out and then stick? Please tell me how!

Hi irene.. what i did was scanned the pic and used that first ... you lay it on and draw round the pic and that gives you an idea of where to cut... hope that makes some kind of sense??
