Fancy brown edges!
At the risk of making myself sound really stupid....
Can anyone tell me how you get that cool dark brown or coloured effect on the edges of cardstock, die cuts etc. I tried usuing chalks/pastels and only suceeded in making a mess of my card/hands/desk/carpet
I've seen it on loads of LOs in the gallery and reeeeeally want to do it on some of my own.

Ink!
Just run an inkpad along the edge of your cardstock. You can do just the edge, or go over the front as well, depending on the effect you want to achieve.

I also use the small square ones: Versacolor. Quite some of the sponsors sell them. I think they are £1.00 -£1.25 each. Great price as you can get lots of them!

Inky Wench!!!
You could try the Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads (walnut ink) that has a nice firm pad for running along the edges of paper cost about £5 try Scrapbookcentral.co.uk.
You could also try the Dark Brown Fluid ink pad these are about £4 Scraporium.co.uk sell these.
You can also get the little pads- VersaColour ink pads are about 1" square and cost £1.25 or so at scrapbookcentral (Pinecone or Bark maybe)
Also the ancient ink and fluid chalk inks come in little sizes too cost about £1.70 or so!
You can also use brown chalks to age the edges of paper- this is good because if you botch it up you can rub it out
And it's not a silly question- I remember when I found out how it was done-it was a revelation and now I 'do' the edges all the time!!!
