Ok, being too late to get an Asda lunchbox (because I didn't know I wanted one 'till they'd sold out), I found this alternative.
It is a DVD box from my local pound shop and cost, well, £1.00!
I don't know if the shop is a chain, it's called "everything £1 or less" I think and it's big... (used to be a Lidl).
I made this to package some presents for a baby, inside are a DVD (Baby Mozart, a must for every new parent!) and a baby grow.
I decorated with Chatterbox papers and tag (I think all from Surprise Supplies kit), homemade letter buttons, Heidi rub-ons and Heidi font, o yes, and shrink plastic little feet and some ribbon.
I've already bought another one today, but would like to get the rivets off the front bookplate as that would make it much easier to decorate. Not much luck so far though...
Oooh, I have got one of these lurking somewhere at the back of my cupboard that I bought in a warehouse for 79p. Will have to dig this out and decorate for a Chrissie gift for SIL. Thanks for showing this. It's gorfeous.
Thats fantastic-Like you I too am too late for the Asda lunchboxes. I kept on reading about it, and now that I have a use for it, I cant find anything like them, anywhere (except the basic grey ones!). Really love what you did with the DVD boxes-its gorgeous!!

re: rivets on the book plate... hit the back of it with your eyelet setter ad it should pop out...
Yeah, I got them off! Managed to get pincers between the rivets and the bookplate, and cut them off. Not sure that that would have worked with an eyelet setter? There were two parts to each of them, and they were stuck inside each other very tightly. Also, it's a bit harder as I couldn't access the back that was inside the box.
it looks lovely, i wanted a lunch box too but missed them butr today i went into merchant chandler and they have little cases with handle and clip lock thingy, they are pink with a silly monkey design on them, i got all 3 sizes, smallest being about 8x6, costing £1.50 the largest cost £2.00, i am going to cover them for xmas prezzies, i also got a small round hat bag with string handle for £i.25 that is screaming out to be covered and spruced up too, wow i am going to be busy from now til xmas.
