    Carol,

I got my sizzix machine and now started to buy some quickutz dies (with adapter you can use them in the sizzix). Sizzix is very heavy (so not good for taking to crops) but has bigger shapes you can cut. QuicKutz has small shapes only but quite nice Alphabets.

I would vote for the sizzix but know that the QuicKutz is very good as well....

sizzix are bringing out a new machine soon, might be better to hold on till that comes out! its called something totally weird like 'the big one' or something and looks like a zipemate in that it has rollers and a handle. It also has a much wider cutting area so can cut bigger shapes as well as shapes in bigger pieces of card. It takes all the old sizzix dies, will have adapters for the rival dies and looks like its pretty damn good! I have had the normal sizzix machine for a couple of years and I do love it and even though i now have a robo Im not parting with it (or my dies) as Tom likes using it and its handy for crops. I have a QK adapter for that too, and it cuts great. QK handle is very limiting, only small shapes and can be difficult to use I found.

I really struggle to use the QK handle when there is one at crop as the wrist I broke when I was in my teens is a wee bit sensitive! I have my Sizzix but yes would hold out now to see what the new Big Shot one looks like.

personally i'd get a zipemate - it does everything failing that a sizzix with adaptors...

ps i've heard the 'big shot' is very flimsy - like the side kick and a bit too much plastic

I bought a Sizzix a few months ago and havne't used it too much yet, I also have a Sidekick and, since yesterday, one of the new Quickutz Squeeze which is SO much easier than the normal Quickutz and a lot lighter. The Sizzix is far too heavy to take to crops, I think the Quickutz would be best if you want to take it with you for doing alphabets.

I have a Qk and a Sizzix. I love them both for different reasons. In my opinion, I woul dbuy a Sizzix with the adapters and then you could use the QK dies in it too.
