Really great photo's Elaine, no doubt you are having much nicer weather than we are too.

Isn't it awful Ellie, seeing all the plants so battered down. We brought our huge tomato plants in last night, well three of them. We already had 3 smaller plants, the size they should be at this time of year, indoors but the rain would just be too much for the toms and I don't want to lose them now. Hubby said it gives you a whole new perspective on how farmers feel seeing their crops ruined and this is just a little bit of home grown stuff, imagine seeing your crops and basically your living get washed away. So the dining table is covered in newspaper and plants. Of course, if we had room for a nice greenhouse we could pop everything in there but we don't.

We aren't going for the laser treatment today, we're leaving it until Friday. Hubby spoke to the vet and explained how bad the old guy was the day after. We have no explanation for it but I rang the rescue and Enid told me one lady said she had a similar problem and then the dog just picked up again. It is now chasing squirrels or trying to and at 14 that's pretty good. Not that you'd want them to do anything strenuous, just being able to go for walks and get up and down the stairs is all we hoped for.

I still need to finish off my LO. This weather is really affecting my mood and I'm not someone who suffers with SAD so I think it is just that I can't finish off the garden and then basically enjoy it. We even had the quilt over our feet last night and it just made the bed a bit warmer and cosy. Who talks of being cosy at this time of year!

Yes I can imagine how devastating it must be for farmers.
I have one of those plastic covered small greenhouse type thing, and
my tomatoes are in there. It’s so cold I just opened it a bit at the
bottom, and we’ve got the heating on.
The rain isn’t as heavy now just light, but it’s forecast heavy for later on.

The rain has eased since this morning and I went out to check on everything. The begonias which were ready to go in are drowning in their packaging because of the design. So I had to take out each plant and squeeze the moisture from the roots in the hope of saving them. I couldn't tip them upside down because they were just falling out of the packs. It will either save them or not, I tried not to crush the roots but the amount of water they were holding was ridiculous. I've not seen this packaging before but I reckon it was design to hold water especially after the heatwave last year. I noticed going round garden centres the plants were wilting with heat and lack of water. This idea would help with that but not when it is raining so constantly. I've popped them in the little wooden greenhouse we bought and the tomatoes do look a lot happier today but only time will tell. As for the rest of it, I hope the blueberries survive we have about 5 blueberry plants and they are full of fruit. Cherries look done for though, about two cherries left and we started with dozens, then we had the wind and now this rain.

As you said Ellie, roll on summer.

Wonderful news Mary, I bet she will be spoiled. Lovely photo's. It's been raining very heavy here since Monday, and it doesn't look like it's going to be any better for the rest of the week. I've got my bed back, and slept much better for it last night. Off to bed soon so will catch up with you with some photo's tomorrow.

There seem to be a lot of girls either being born or expected. I had bought a little jacket, only from Matalan for our neighbour's baby and then we discussed whether it would be better to get a different size. Would you believe it, today I got a photo of her in her chunky, pink knitted jacket with fleecy lining - in June. It is still too big for her so she may be wearing it in a few months time who knows. She had a summer top underneath and looks adorable. Obviously, even babies struggle to know what to wear with this sort of English summer.

Congratulations to you Mary and the parents.
Hope all goes well. I wanted a boy, when I had my girls, then when their
babies came along, I wanted them to have girls, but ended up with 4 boys.
So the best of both worlds really. It will be nice for you to have a girl.
It a bit better weather here today. No rain as yet.

Morning. We had a much better weather day yesterday. We had the best of best days. Everything was perfect! After our late breakfast we had a lovely swim and socialise around the pool the. we got ready and headed off to the restaurant and cocktail bar. The weather was perfect, the sun shone, the view was great and the food was superb. Afterward cocktails on the upper deck then a taxi home for a game of pool. Amber was amazing..she didnít moan once about being in one place for so long, we all took it in turns entertaining her and taking her to see the fishes in the marina etc. Shame the day had to end.
Iím going to try to get some time on our own today as we love this area and the others seem content around the pool so I think we are going off to explore a bit today then the kids are treating us to a thank you meal this evening in one of our favourite restaurants and BIL wonít go so it will be a smaller gathering which will be nice.
Here is a picture of us all on the terrace overlooking the marina...and one of the birthday boy looking very happy and pleased with himself!
