    Cheers. Mines a drambuie please.

We were late tonight as we had to watch Ollie in his school play. All asleep now and we can relax. The oldies are all out partying with their 18 year old big sis !

Thank you all..shame I missed the combined drinkies! Lol.
I am so grateful for all the prayers said on our behalf..I even prayed myself..and will be saying a little prayer of thanks later too.
I will also be thanking him for the friendship I have found here on UKS..what a support you all are. Thank you all.
Of course she’s still got cancer and it is a secondary so it is serious but at least there is hope. She will have liver scans every three months and if the drugs don’t seem to be working she will have to have the aggressive chemo, but hopefully not. She will be having ongoing monthly injections of the new drug combined with another oestrogen killing drug but she is in a good place for now. It’s all I prayed for..time!
I haven’t broached th holiday question yet..I’ll have to wait to make sure she doesn’t have any adverse effects of the new drugs. As she had sepsis before she will be cautious about going abroad but that was because she was undergoing chemo and it had wiped out her immune system. This drug doesn’t do that..I think? So much to take in!

I missed out on the drinkies and I didn't take you for a whisky drinker either Mary. You're right Ellie, that definitely looks like a double, good for you Mary. Beautiful flowers photo's and somehow I can appreciate them more this evening. I think another little prayer of thanks is definitely called for.

    Good morning Snappers
It definitely wasn’t a double it was a very small glass. I blame my Dear son in law for getting me into whisky but that one was a cheat as it was a Kentucky honey one, I left my Jura at Neil’s at Christmas and keep forgetting to pick it up

There is a short path off to the left on my walk to Asda that is called Rose Walk, there are 4 or 5 houses one side and an allotment the other and all along the allotment side are rambling rose bushes which are just beginning to bloom

At the entrance to the allotment is a huge hawthorn tree with masses of deep pink blooms

Had to laugh at your cyber hangover Denise.

Mary, I love the roses, all the flowers are gorgeous but those roses are so pretty. The laburnum is late isn't it, ours is going over now sadly. Mind you, even in our little Vale we had laburnums that flowered one after another, all the rest have gone now and I don't know what happened to them.

A day in at last, hopefully I can get some more planting up done. I should have taken a photo of the courgette seeds I planted for my neighbour. She'd planted them but the conditions weren't right so I planted up the rest of the seeds. Each night I lifted the cover to see if anything was happening and Thursday night nothing was showing but by Friday morning they had shot up about half and inch and by last night they were even bigger. I'll get a photo of how much they've grown in one day, amazing. It took 4 days for them to sprout!

along the lane today I noticed, not for the first time, the fallen tree that was covered in ivy vines, no leaves and it looked an ideal place to get a photo of myself if I could prop my camera somewhere. Yes there was a convenient tree branch that held my camera nicely so putting it on 9 second delay I scrambled down and managed to catch my leg on a bit of the tree or ivy vine that was sticking out so had to have another go got the photo the second time as I wanted it but when I climbed out of the corpse I had blood running down my leg and the only thing I could do to stem the flow was to put a tissue on it taped up with sellotape I now have a nice little series of photos that I must scrap for posterity

Was that a bit of a Freudian slip there Mary, corpse as opposed to copse? You have just made me laugh out loud so funny, the idea of you stepping out of a corpse with blood all over you. Seriously though, I hope your leg is okay and you gave it a really good clean out, you don't know what bacteria or fungi are in a copse/corpse.

You've just reminded me of a time when my wonderful mum-in-law told us in quite an outraged voice that she'd just seen a bird running down the garden with a cat in its mouth.
