Aww poor Jay. Kids do get bored easily though !

    I have another M.... Mother’s Day gift.
As well as afternoon tea I got these Hydrangeas to plant in my garden.

Very true Ellie and he has a very active mind whereas his sister is happiest throwing herself around, she has no fear. I wonder who reminds me of at that age!

What beautiful Hydrangeas, they look so healthy, have you got a spot in mind for them?

Yes I have Susie. I’ve two very big ceramic pots which I will
put them in until they get bigger. Then clear a space in the garden for them,
but heaven knows where!! I’m becoming a bit over crowded. It’s only a small garden,
So might have to clear out some old stuff to make way for the new.

They look lovely Ellie. Maybe you could keep them in pots permanently?

Love the money box Sheila, very unusual too.

I didn't think of mirror either Ellie so well done.

Elaine, I would never have thought that was the same picture, the earth is really dry isn't it.

We have had a busy afternoon and just when you feel like you are getting something done at last it all goes horribly pear shaped. I was clearing out my craft room and get the washing done and generally catching up on tidying, hubby was clearing moss and weeds from between the paving and sorting out the front garden ready for it to be Karchered and then re-grouted. We only stopped for a snack and a drink around 5pm so I suggested giving the boys their meal an hour early and just as we sat down to relax for 5 minutes the old guy had a big wee in the kitchen and when they wee it goes everywhere, it is like a river. So we are trying to get the boys out of the way and stop them walking in it and then I started to throw kitchen towel down to stop it spreading. Meanwhile I asked hubby to take them out just in case and next thing he calls me to check out the old guy's poo and it is quite bloody.

I know what it is but rang the vet's anyway as I wanted to make sure we had an appointment with our own vet for tomorrow. Just as I'm doing that the old guy found the rubbish bag with the kitchen towel and wee and the vacuum cleaner dust and he has his face in that. I yelled to hubby to get him out of it but he must have inhaled the dust. Well, I have never seen a dog sneeze like he did. It was about 15 minutes later when he started and the side of his face went up and I thought he was having a stroke or something and then the sneezing started. We've never seen anything like it and it went on for ages. I was more worried the strain of sneezing could encourage whatever caused the bleed to open a bit more but so far so good. The blood is because he had a 5 day course of NSAID's. He's had them once before for his back and the vet tried him Gabapentin first this time but that made his very wobbly and unsteady, so much so he hurt his leg on the stairs and ended up needing the painkillers. Unfortunately, at the moment he's on Vivitonin which is the doggy version of Ginkgo Biloba which I take for the brain. But it is a blood thinner and is to send blood to the muscles which of course he needs, but the combination of the two has caused a reaction. Fortuantely, he's finished with his 5 day course of painkillers and we'll stop the Vivitonin until everything settles down. His eye and gums are a healthy pink so no cause for major worry just yet but we'll keep an eye on him and take him back to the vet tomorrow.

Funny isn't it, the way medication can cause the same problems in elderly animals just as badly as it does elderly humans.

Aww poor old boy. Hope he’s ok. I suppose it’s the same as with
humans, you have to be careful with blood thinners.
Hope the vet gives him the all clear.

So do I Ellie. To make matters worse, just as his leg had improved the neighbour's cat jumped out at him just now in the dark and he spun round and hurt his leg again. So after giving him the painkillers, which we didn't want him to have, none more so than our vet, he now looks as though he's in pain again, such a dilemma. He certainly can't have NSAID's again and tonight he still has a lot of blood in his stool. I can only hope that by the time he's goes again it has calmed down.

Oh poor boy. Hope he’s OK once he’s seen the vet.
Sunshine again here today which is ideal as we are tackling Mums sheds today. Found lots more china and collectibles in there yesterday so DH is helping me get what we can out before tomorrow.
    What’s everyone else up to.

Vets today and if you think talking about it is bad Alison, you better hadn't see the photo I've taken. It has M for Melena in his stool sample - Google it if you dare. I've had to keep his bag of business to show the vet, boy is the car going to stink by the time we get there. I'm hoping they don't want to keep him in but I always plan for the worst and hope for the best and they may need to find out where the blood is coming from, we'll see.

How can this turn your stomach, you've all given birth and cleaned bottoms! Maybe it was the breakfast thing that did it Alison. Mind you, I think it is always different when you are having to deal with it yourself as opposed to hearing about it from someone else.

Exciting Ellie having your new fire put in, what surround did you choose or can you put your tiles back, are they a feature?

Shed Elaine? Does it have spiders in there? There could be gold in our shed and you wouldn't catch me in there.

Lol. Spiders don’t bother me at all Susie. We had a good rummage in there today. It’s all done as well as it can be for now.
Took our old girl to the vets this PM too and she had a blood test. Turns out she has early stage liver failure so we have to canhge her diet to one for that specific illness. I can’t face losing her yet
