John had to have the knees replaced through playing football and general wear !!
You would have been shocked at a photo he sent today. He was sitting in the nets that hang
over the side!! DD sent him a message saying.....
Donít fall in ,your knees will rust

Donít worry I will try not too Susie Nice saying too.

Alison, Iíve not seen that flower before, but the name is pretty.

I'll have to Google the Monarda, I've not seen that one before. I am so glad I finally bought the Hellebores Ellie. Despite leaving them in their pots for ages three are now in the back border and they look so happy and have carried on flowering away. I have a sort of pale burgundy colour either side by the holly trees and the big pink one in the centre. All the coleus are coming on great and since they like shady spots I will plant some in the back border too. It's a deep border and takes quite a lot of bedding plants so I'm always glad for things that come back each year, providing my own little Percy Thrower doesn't throw them out.

He still only young to have such wear and tear in his knees isn't he Ellie. Mind you, at 30 my friend had terrible neck problems and in 'those' days was told she couldn't possibly have arthritis she was too young - how things have changed.

Glad you got your Hellebores growing Susie. Mine have still got flowers on but fading now.
I try to leave them on until they produce seeds, then I take them off and put them in the
ground to grow, or potthem up to grow. You get quite a few new plants that way.
What about some Astrantias and Rubeckia in the border they aregood plants to have..

Yes he is youngto have new joints, and he had to wait until he was in agony and
could hardly walk before they would do it ,because of his age. Luckily his firm had
private health care, and he had it done quicker. He had both knees done at the same time!!
But he’s fine now, thank goodness. I couldn’t wish for a nicer SIL

That happened to mine this year too Mary..only a couple of flowers and it was beautiful last year. Mine is a Magnolia Stellata though?
Iím feeling a little more upbeat today. My sister is coming home tomorrow from Oz so Iím looking forward to seeing her on Thursday when sheís back in the land of the living. At least she will understand how Iím feeling.
Iíve had all my carpets and furniture cleaned today..itís all still damp so itís drying in a Mess.. All the cushions are piled high even though they have been outside in full sun all afternoon. Iím sitting in our leather armchair as itís the only one thatís dry.
So..here is my M for Mess!

My neighbour's was stunning but the one by her room at the care home only had one flower on it. Whether it had lost them all I don't know but it didn't look like the petals were lying around.

That's a very tidy mess Elaine. They always seem to take longer than they should to dry and I don't know about anyone else but I hate walking on the carpets when they've been cleaned and aren't fully dry.

Happy 1st of May everyone, this year is flying by.
