    Love that hole Elaine.

Wow you have been busy Alison. Great photos, and I love, love that
    buttonhole, it’s so unusual.

    I have another H.
    H is for Hard Work......
We were out in the car Yesterday, and we had a puncture. It was a narrow road, so I
had to let DH know when cars were coming!!!!!!
He said, that way I got hit first !!!!
But he changed it like a pro.....

Lovely to have a thoughtful hubby like yours Ellie.

What fantastic photo's. Love all of them actually and you seem to be having good weather Ellie, what a blue sky, it is horrible and wet here.

Alison, you beat me to it with the folded towels, love the spray, so clever, you must have been really pleased with the results. I certainly won't be taking any photo's of hot irons and neither will Mary I think.

Need to go back and check the rest of the photo's.

It’s grey and raining here Susie.
The photos were taken yesterday when there was blue sky and sunshine.

I did some ironing yesterday yet I never thought of that..grr! Well done Alison.
Cheek of your hubby Ellie..sort of thing mine would say..mind you mine would have called the AA! He is a whizz around the house but he doesn’t want anything to do with cars! I’m the Motörhead around here..lol
Ive been rearranging furniture all day trying out different layouts for my furniture as we are expecting our new table and chairs soon. I sold the old one yesterday so I have a cavernous space so I thought I’d try to rearrange it while I could. I expended a lot of energy but, you’ve guessed it..all the furniture is all back where it started. DH is at work so I’ve been shuffling thumping sofas about on my own. At least I know now that it didn’t work. Lol ..at least I had an excuse to blitz all the skirting boards and crevices.
It’s awful weather here today too.

My mum was always moving furniture around Elaine. We'd come home from school and sofa's would be moved table, you name it, we'd never know what we were going to find.

Hubby is brilliant with car stuff. He trained as an auto electrician but used to do almost all his own repairs on his cab, especially in the run up to test time. Tests on Hackneys are or were, different to private hire taxis or cars, they are far more intensive for want of a better word. They'd fail them on the least thing, one time it had snowed in April on the way to the test site and they failed him because his newly painted bodywork wasn't quite shiny enough. They also used to cost a lot more, £120 per test and if you failed, it cost more again, such a rip off. Whereas, the private hire cars could just go in for a normal car MOT. Can you tell we were bitter?

If his night man broke down say with a broken half shaft we've been out there poking the half shaft out a 1am, I kid you not, just so there was less time off the road for the night man. He was excellent at bodywork too and in the days when cars rusted he repaired dad's car and my sister's and made them look like new. Sadly these days the bending gets to him, so even fixing the garden fence last week ends up with neck problems, but he does enjoy it. Did I tell you about our neighbour's son offering to help him? He is such a lovely lad and he had a week off work, next thing hubby is being fed bacon butties with mushrooms and tomatoes to keep his strength up.

I got up today and my neighbour had sent in chocolate macaroons, they are best I've ever tasted, absolutely delicious. We have a unofficial bartering system, (it's called being neighbourly) I'm growing her tomato plants this year and a few other plants for her.

Oh and our other neighbour loves the matinee jacket and it is a little bit too big at present - yaaaay! I'll be starting something in pink now. She loved all the other things I showed you and no-one had bought her anything in pink either, so that makes it all extra special.

Had to laugh at you the Motörhead Elaine
I asked DH ,why don’t you just call the AA, and he said that he could do it in
less time than it would take for them to come out. and he did.
He used to mend his own cars as well, when you could mend them that is !!
I remember once, he replaced a complete engine in our VW Beetle, because we
we saving up to buy a house and just didn’t have any spare cash.
Eventually we sold the Beetle to get more cash for a deposit, and he bought a
Motorbike to go to work on.... happy days

It’s nice to have friendly neighbours Susie. Glad she liked the baby clothes.

She was over the moon with them Ellie, they both were, which is really lovely.

As you say, in those days you could work on cars now it's all engine management. I can remember taking the distributor cap off my car and drying everything out over the gas flame in the kitchen, soon got it started though. I was taught to do a service on my car and my dad didn't believe anyone should be on the road if they couldn't change a tyre!!! Your hubby is right though, it was quicker for to change it than call out the AA and providing you're not off to a wedding and in fancy clothes, why not. Nice to keep your hand in.

I sold my Escort which was new, bought a cheap Ford Escort and put the money towards a deposit for a house, it was hard going paying for everything on my own but worth it. Mind you, I couldn't afford nice clothes everything went to pay for the mortgage and the bills.

Here's a 3 in 1... folds - folded paw and tail, h for hairy and old which they both are. One on the left hasn't got a blue coat, it's a reflection of the TV screen. They both need a good grooming and haircut.

Great idea with those photos Mary..what’s in the bottom photo sachets? (I sound like Susie now) lol
Well done on getting three in one Susie.
I am not complaining about DH because he can turn his hand to anything..he just chooses not to with cars. If I call the AA I tell them I am alone (which to be fair, I normally am) and they are there very quickly.
I often rejig the furniture too Susie..it’s a habit of mine..and the ornaments etc. I am always moving them around and changing rooms and photos in frames etc. It keeps everything fresh and I get to admire different prices from around the house. I’m having a ball at the moment with all my Mums china and collectibles! Even though we don’t know which family member will be given them eventually I am making the most of them and having them on display here. She has a good collection of Moorcrooft and Sally Tuffin so it’s currently all over my house. It’s old china so I guess I can share some here..some of it is mine but I’ve added Mums to it.

You can see the little pot is cracked. My Dad gave it to me 6 days before he died. It it broken into 5 pieces but it all holds together so I still have it out. My puppy knocked it off the table about 30 years ago.
The little dog is Beswick and it reminds me of my little Basil
