that is a lovely memorial card and it reminds me I have an old photo of a baby that died very young
    William John Walter Stares.jpg
on the back of the photo are the words 'William John Walter Stares Born 22 June 1905 Died 22 January 1906'. I never really found out if he was one of John's grandparents children or if he was from another branch of the family

Glad to hear it was a stone Mary.

Such wonderful photo's. I started to write that your wedding dress (and your mum's) Alison reminds me of the material of my mum's dress, I love the little bolero style top too. How lovely that you wore your mum's dress.

The little memorial card is so very touching.

I am loving all these old photo's, it is so nice to look back and remember loved ones isn't it.

Sheila, I will check out your LO's shortly.

Ellie, glad the mystery of the plants has been sorted, well done Alison. Also, now you know why I don't bother ironing. I fold all hubby's t-shirts and tops neatly after they've come out of the tumble dryer and they are crease free. Then he drags out one from underneath the others and leaves the rest in a heap. Had I ironed them too I would have had to kill him I think.

We went to visit our neighbour in care tonight and came home feeling very sad.

I did write a post earlier but of course closed everything down without actually hitting reply, I hate it when I do that.

Meant to say how lovely and happy you looked on your wedding day Alison and are those pearls the same ones your mum wore? Hope your cold is easing now and you're feeling a bit better. Such miserable things colds aren't they.

Denise, I think the programme was called A Year In the Life Of An Oak - or something like that. It was on BBC as I recall.

I’d like to see that programme too, will go search for it, can maybe watch it in the day in peace without interference from others !

No DH got me those pearls from an antique shop, we bought lots of old things in those days. We had a Victorian house, and went round the shops and auction rooms looking for suitable furniture.

Ellie, well done for spotting the jigsaw, you know your tools !
That was his business, he manufactured and sold woodworking tools. And looking at that saw closely it has the name ‘Cousins’ on it, which is his surname, so maybe that’s why that shot was taken. Not sure who the other guy is, but he did team up with a German chap at some point and they set up CD Monninger Ltd in Tottenham, which my father used to work for, and is sadly no longer in existence . I will have to ask my aunt again if she has any other info

That’s really interesting Alison. Have you scrap that photo? The history needs
    to be written down.

Do you feel anymore relaxed Elaine, hope so.

It’s wet and very windy here.

Afraid it’s not scrapped yet, it’s in an album my aunt gave me. I will investigate further and try and get the story, think I have some images I found on Google. Another project to do !!

That is all so interesting Alison and definitely has to go on the scrapping list, especially since you have that wonderful photo.

It was only when I was coming home last night I realised I could have taken a photo of the Old Folks Home as they used to be called.

It's deceptively sunny here today, easy to be fooled into thinking it is nice out but there is a cold, cold wind.

Our 6 Hellebores arrived Ellie and they are a really good size for 19.99 I've taken a photo which I'll post later.
