    January 19 - Week 1

Hi Folks, this is my first solo challenge, apologies that I am posting it a little early, but I have an early start tomorrow....

A New Year is not just the time for looking forward but also remembering previous years, so I would like you to: Scrap a Heritage picture. My teamies know that I love Heritage pictures and LO's, it is the reason I started scrapbooking. But Heritage need not be as old as my examples from the 1920's - do you have a picture of you or your parents as a child perhaps? For this challenge, try to find a photo/s at least 30 years old.

I would like you to add a hollow frame to your LO, my examples have black frames (straight and at an angle) in the background, yours can be any colour, any size.

I like inking and have recently been having fun with some gold and bronze gilding inks, please use inking somewhere on your LO.

So a simple challenge for the new year:
    Heritage photo/s = 10 points
    Using a hollow frame = 10 points
    Using inks = 10 points

Here are a couple of examples:

Nice challenge but haven't any old photos that haven't been scrapbooked. The ones I could use are at my mums and I wont inherit them until she either dies or goes into a home. As things stand either of these options could happen sooner rather than later but until then they are at mums. Sorry cant take part in this challenge.

Why not do one again, just for fun? I bet your scrapping style has changed a lot! It’s another piece of paper used up after all.
    Lovely samples Claire!

Or just do the other 2 parts of the challenge Sandra !

Or what about finding a photo online of a fave tv show, a memorable world event or even of the area you grew up - your old school ?
Or find some of the year you were born / married and scrap that ?

Thanks for the good suggestions - I guess I am not organised to have scrapped all my photos, and I often scrap a photo twice because my style has changed so much. I love the idea of googling an old event, time, place from your past and finding a photo, that could be a weekly challenge by itself!

I've been looking for a photo that I haven't already told all the story I can about it and I have discovered a photo of my DH with his mum & dad when he was not quite a year old it even has the date on the back 28th June 1942 great find. I have already scrapped one from the same photo shoot of just John and his mum but this time his dad is holding him and they are all in the photo I'm chuffed as I was beginning to wonder what to use

Cheers Claire, I will certainly join in!
    Old photos are my speciality.
Sandra- how about converting a colour photo to B&W? Or crop a small section/ person from a previously scrapped photo?
Look online for an old picture of your home town or school?
