Very nice Elaine. Like the pine cones and the hessian ribbon.

Wow that’s some tree. How long did it take to put all those ornaments on!?
    Like the sitting Santa figure

Lovely wreath Elaine, so clever. The greenery is already made on mine I just have to decorate it and thread lights through and there's a thought, where is it? We got up in the loft and have made a start on changing the lamp shades, they all go to red and the throws are in the wash. Not letting hubby near them as he took it upon himself one year (you may remember) to wash and DRY and chenille throw. It was ruined; actually ruined doesn't even do it justice, it had pulls and snapped threads all over it. I wouldn't mind, I haven't been able to find anything like it since, it was very heavy and covered our sofa beautifully. Mustn't dwell on this or I'll end up going down and shouting at him and he won't know what for.

Alison, what's annoying me is I did ask him if they were large size because I knew they were and he said "No." That's what's bugging me about this but I'll do as you say next year and get them to do them. The woman I spoke to today (I rang up) told me they usually know just at a glance what size will go through, obviously not in his case.

That's a big worry Sheila, I hope they get to the bottom of the problem soon. Can that cause confusion or could he have a water infection as well as they are notorious for causing confusion?

Glad you had a good time Ellie and how nice to sit and drink coffee and catch up with DD.

Thank you. My decorating takes three days in total. Each tree takes half a day and then I have table tops, sideboards and stairs and a little third tree in the window. I’m hoping to get it all finished tomorrow..phew
Here is my main tree this year..white and silver..but the branches are green! Lol

We still don't have trees but lots of garlands with lights and wreaths. So most of the house is red/green/gold but the front room which is all cream is gold/cream with some greenery of course. Even changing the lamp shades to red gives our 'family room' in reality it is the dogs' room, a nice cosy glow. Then, when we change back after Christmas it all looks cold.

    Morning
Elaine, your trees and wreath are gorgeous.
I thought I’d have got further with my decoration but I keep getting pulled away to do other things, like work, grandchildren, etc. And I spent a long time in the garden Saturday. I have a full day on my own tomorrow so hope to catch up. I am home this morning, but painter is coming to do Rosie’s old bedroom so I’m trying to clear that ready !
I have a colour scheme every year, that’s why I have so many baubles! I box each colour separately so they are always organised.
I’m doing red, gold green this year but it’s proving to be my least favourite, and I’ve bought a really big bushy tree, it’s needing loads of decorations! Will share pic when I’m done

Here’s a special decoration from me, I think you can work out why it’s special ...

It’s also red and green, not much gold though

Sheila hope they can find out what’s wrong with Mabel’s husband, how worrying.

Denise, you saying you out your things away in a rush and muddle, that’s what I’m like and I always regret it come the next December. I do make sure the lights are put away properly, and my colour coded bauble boxes are great, everything else is a muddle !

Have a nice day everyone x
    Alison

    Morning all.
Lol..yes animals are family aren’t they Denise.
Your room sounds lovely and cosy Susie. I have DS1’s puppy tomorrow so I am going to put my footstools areound the tree in the lounge to make sure he doesn’t knock it flying. I’ll just have to keep him out of the hall! He’s over a year now but his brain doesn’t know it..he’s the worst behaved puppy in the world! He has the most lovely nature but he just doesn’t understand boundaries and thinks nothing of blundering into things! I will have four dogs and Amber tomorrow (with no husband to help )and I have a dinner party in the evening! Help!!
I have all my decs packed away neatly in colour coordinated boxes too Alison..lol.
I’m going to finish putting all my decs up today.,I have a whole day at home while waiting for a delivery..I’m so looking forward to it..no rushing about for a whole day! Woohoo!

How could you not worry about the donkeys and the cats Denise, it would be like us walking out of the house and forgetting about the dogs. People mean well but some just don't understand that these are part of the family. Of course, they don't understand Christmas but they do understand when you leave them.

I must admit, I love both rooms when they're done despite being completely different. The 'red room' is such because the carpet is red and the book cases are in there so it looks like a cosy library, especially with all the red throws and the Christmas lights over the fire. But I also love the cream and gold in the other room and the dining room follows on from the red room so that matches. My sister goes for paler colours and hers always looks beautiful.

I'm sure once you're done Alison you will love it all. I love your bauble that is so sweet, gosh the time really flies doesn't it.

We pack everything away in large clear plastic boxes so I can see exactly what is in each box. I used to carefully label them with what was in them and 1 of 6 and so on, but this is much easier.

Elaine, good luck with the puppy tomorrow. I've just re-read your post and I am concerned about your sanity are you completely nuts? I've just thought of a name for a film Four Dogs and a Dinner Party. Luckily you will have Amber to help, I'm sure she will be brilliant at helping keep the puppy occupied. Hope you're enjoying your day, if anyone can do it you can.

    Evening all.
I’m sure all your rooms will look lovely when decorated ,ladies.
I keep all my decorations in one big plastic box, in the loft.
Not colour coded, just all in one box

I’ve written my Christmas cards today, ready for posting.
Got to wait in for boiler man to come and service the boiler tomorrow.

Lovely Christmas bauble Alison, so special.
Not decided if I’m buying baubles for DGS this year. I think they will
probably think they are too old for them now.

Did my stairs today..more red. I had to take all the lights off the staircase and put a different set on as there were way too many and couldn’t tuck all the cables in. I took this photo before I did that..what a faff!
