Hi there - can I join in please? Here are a couple of ideas for the children to make - perhaps when their school holidays start! DD is running 2 Christmas Craft evenings for the cubs and I have spent ages cutting over 400 "bits" on the Robo for them. It would take too long for them all to hand cut themselves and they are quite young. So now all they have to do is assemble them and decorate. But if you are just making a few then hand cutting would not be too bad. I have the Robo stuff saved if anybody wants them - just PM me.

This one is a blast from the past - they were all the range a few years ago

You simply cover a baking tray and then make little squares with magnets on the back and they are re-useable

Magnetic advent calendars made from baking trays. I had one in my classroom each year and the children loved adding the magnets and got a gift each day too and one in the house.
The one in the house has since bitten the dust but I now add the pictures of the cats everyday to the fridge

Some fantastic ideas here! Our Christmas is not really geared to young kids any more, usually we go up to family up North, but the two days fall awkwardly this year for that amount of travel. So for the first time in several years we have Christmas at home and I am really looking forward to it!
I have tried something new this year - beaded snowflakes. You can buy the wire forms, thread on your chosen beads and make a loop at the ends to hold them on.

This is a really simple banner I made a few years ago for A Trip Down Memory Lane. It is thick chipboard covered with papers and lace and then glitter letters are added. I threaded it on ribbon and it hangs on my fireplace every year

super ideas girls - I LOVE the advent calendar with cats on, very tempted to do that for my animals, the dog, cat and horse could fight it out. What a great idea.

So many fabulous ideas here! I love the wreath Sue..and Maria..I’m so glad you have found your inner Christmas Spirit again..what a lot of lovely teamies you have.

I made this sweetie basket out of a sheet of 12” card and some die cut poinsettias.. more details here on the Merly Impressions blog as I was designing for them then.

Three years ago I made an advent calendar for my Grand daughter using an MDF advent that I then covered with Christmas paper and made a scene using die cuts.
Each year I have the job of running around trying to find 24 little objects like hair slides, bouncy balls, chocolate coins, jelly beans etc to fill the drawers. It has become a Christmas tradition now..I’m so glad I made it.

Here she is looking at it and below is a layout I made of the photo

Some amazing projects here ladies. I’m loving the banners and advent calendars

Here is a LO I did of Stockholm’s lovely old town. I was lucky enough to work there for 2 months last year

love that sweetie basket Elaine... and your advent and layout of course. Yes I am very lucky with my teamies, they have become my best friends to be honest. We all speak most days, they could all pick my horse and dog out of a lineup and i could probably pick out their children and grandchildren - we've been throguh literally births, deaths and marriages together and its a forever thing.... so much more than just scrapbook friends.

Karen i cant beleive its already a year since you were in Stockholm.

Im loving this countdown post and all its ideas... just need the time to do a few of them. Scrapdollys baking tray animal advent is first up...

I agree, this thread is great ! I’ve had a couple of busy days and missed such a lot !!
Love the magnetic advent calendar, on my ‘to do’ list.
Beatiful banners ladies, and love all the Christmas themed lo’s

I know that mad rushing around feeling Elaine. Trouble is all my kids expect it now and I’m struggling as the family expands. Think the way forward is Christmas Eve boxes for each family and just custom advent calendars for my two little granddaughters

Yiayia, lovely simple kids makes, may try those too.

Looking forward to seeing what inspiration comes here today ...
    Alison
