Thanks ladies, I stayed in bed but didn't get any sleep and now I've been up all night coughing. You did make me laugh at the idea of the doctor coming out Sheila, I think those days are well and truly gone now unless you are at death's door. Anyway, I'm not ill enough to call out the doctor, just the throat infection which is now going onto my chest. I'm so annoyed because for years, apart from getting the flu when I missed my flu jab I don't usually catch anything. But because this has set my immune system back like everything else I am catching things, this is off my darling sister. Last winter when everyone was getting ill I breezed through without a hint of anything. I need to get over this stupid relapse and that was what I was seeing the doctor about.

Never mind, back to bed now.

Just checked back and congratulations for the 19th Ellie. How wonderful to have had so many happy years together.

Cats aren't soft Mary, Mitten knows when it's time to snuggle up on the bed and I love that you got out the other side so as not to disturb her.

The 60th birthday photo's are great Denise, you look so lovely, I do wish I could have been there.

How is your mum now Elaine?

Sheila, isn't it great when they give your car the okay for another 12 months, I find it is always such a relief, especially if they say no work is required.

Morning Susie. You must be ill to be awake now! I hope you make a speedy recovery.
Mum is hanging on. They’ve increased her diuretics but it hasn’t worked yet. The main worry is if the water gets to her lungs! She’s more upbeat than she was earlier in the week and her brother visited yesterday with her sister in law so that lifted her spirits. This could go on for weeks/months so we have decided to carry on with our plans and go off on holiday tomorrow. There is nothing more I can do here. I’ve rallied the family round from around the country and my brothers wife is coming to stay for a few days next week so she will be here to visit whilst I’m away to support my sister. I had to go to Mums bungalow yesterday to make beds up etc and today I have to do it all again here for my two lots of house sitters. At least my sister has back up for next week. When she goes away I have to do it on my own! I’m rather cross with her because I booked a retreat for the end of October a year ago and she had booked another holiday this week, knowing Mums situation, for 10 days which completely overlaps my retreat!! I’m local so if Mum is still in the same way guess who’s going to have to go? She’s so selfish at times!

These prompts are making me look at my little treasures again with fresh eyes. Here are two little glass swans one is blue and the smaller one is slightly iridescent so looks blue

Susie, hope you soon feel better, just rest in the meantime. Elaine, hope you can relax and enjoy your holiday - it's annoying about your sister having a holiday when you are on a retreat - will you still be able to go? Mary I love your swans, they are beautiful colours. Yesterday somebody came to see me to look at all Paul's cars he used to collect plus a lot of cars he played with as a child. He said he'd take them off my hands for 250.00, but with a bit of negotiation, he gave me 300.00, which is great because it will pay for the work I need done on my garden next month.

That was good bargaining Sheila. I wish I had done that with my brothers cars,
He had all sorts Going back to the 1940s. But I took them to the charity shop,

I have another 9 saw these in Asda they are the little spring loaded things that keep the good to the front of the shelf, I think they look like little sentries on parade as they seem to have a face

Just got up and it is thundering badly now so will turn off computer shortly as we have the lightning conductor at the end of our road. Torrential rain, so I don't mind staying in bed. No cold Ellie just some other sort of virus, throat, chest but no rest. Lots of restless legs and arms because I am in bed too long.

Thunder is getting very close and very loud now so will go, it tends to blow electrical goods that are plugged in.
