    Photo prompts for August

    Good morning snappers!

I must admit I have struggled with this month's prompts and to be honest, as I'm writing this I'm still not sure what I'm going to write.

Tools - favourite tools, most hated, most useful, most useless, lets see what you have and how you rate it.

Fun - this can be how you are spending your time or funny things that are happening around you or cute stuff like Gus in his bowl or Amber on the naughty step.

Words - I can't wait to see how you interpret this.

    Good morning Snappers
This sounds fun Susie I have one for words already i nearly posted it as ‘white ‘ last month but decided not to so although it’s not technically an August photo I could still get it this month as I’m pretty sure it will still be in the shop

    Mary, that’s a good one

I have one from July too - just because I have no idea how it is pronounced !

This was funny to us, but not for Joe. Being bitten by a crab!
A very small crab,I might add

Oh I'm so delighted you really get what I was going for here.

The photo's of fun are perfect Ellie, boys just never grow up do they. Poor Joe got bitten, great stuff. I hope you had the propolis to hand.

Mary and Alison, I was going to make the prompt either Quotes or Logo's but then I thought Words gave us more interesting options. You both certainly met that prompt right off. I'd better get some up myself hadn't it. That is a beautiful quote/sentiment Mary.

A couple from me, one of which you've seen before but I've added a different background and the cat ornament is for all the cat lovers to share.

The first one we bought and hubby drilled a whole through it to put some of mum's ashes in it. It was for my brother to have in France but it was so heavy he didn't take it back. The second one was made by my late neighbour for his wife and given to me by his daughter after he died. I thought you might like to see the cat ornament, the top cat lifts off as it is a lid. Lots of words behind the plaque too. I think our taste in books would be called eclectic a bit like our taste in everything.

As for tools, I will show you what caused this prompt shortly. It may be classed as one of my Victoria Meldrew moments.

What a great plaque Ellie, I love flip flops. My sister struggles to wear them or used to because they hurt between her toes.

I took a closer look at your photo and love the way your DH is laughing at Joe, so caring.

I can’t wear them either Susie. Don’t like them rubbing between my toes!
Also I tend to stumble when wearing any backless shoes these days.
I used to love them, but not now.

Here is the culprit and the reason I added in Tools for a prompt. I was opening a tin of salmon the other day, we've been eating a lot of fresh fish but since hubby couldn't eat last week he decided the tinned stuff was good enough for me. Anyway, could I get the tin open, it was awful, one bit would open then another bit wouldn't and so on. Eventually I thought I had cut it all and was trying to get a knife under the lid, there was just one tiny piece still attached and I pressed it. Well, who knew that small amount of fish oil could travel so far. The worktop was covered and it even went all over my slippers, the smell of course is so hard to get rid of and I was cursing the tin opener. The oil was on the floor and on my clothes and I was trying to get kitchen towel to mop the work surface but couldn't move because the dogs were busy licking my slippers.

That tin opener went in the bin and hubby went out to buy another and came back with one exactly the same. I mean why - the first one was rubbish, so the picture is of our new rubbish tin opener.

I can't wear them if I'm walking the dogs as there is no grip if they suddenly decided they have to investigate a lamp post.
