Aww that’s sad, but inevitable I suppose given the circumstances.
Pleased that your mom is ok. You won’t have the results yet will you.
Have a good night watching the football.

Thanks ladies. Mum had to give permission to the vet so we called the ward and she spoke directly to him. We had visited previously and explained what was going on and she agreed that if it was what the vet recommended she would go with it regardless of how sad it was for her. She was obviously very upset.

Oh bless her Elaine and you, it is such a distressing thing to have to do but for your mum not to be able to be there must have been extra hard to bear. I had given all of ours a last cuddle except for Si who was in the vets and we'd rushed back home for meds and just as we were on our way back they rang to say he'd died. I was devastated and couldn't speak about it for years, I think because I felt I'd let him down by not being there, but sometimes it just happens, it's what we all dread. Hopefully, your mum will realise that sometimes these things are beyond our control.

I got my results there and then, so did they give you any idea as to what is/isn't wrong. Sometimes, say when dad was having a full scan, the sonographer would talk me through what he was doing and what he found as we went along. Dad would just lie back and didn't pay any attention. He'd get outside to the car and hubby would ask him how he got on and he'd just say "Oh I don't know, you'll have to ask Susan." That's what daughters are for Elaine.

I'm hiding upstairs away from the football because I can't bear to watch, what a wuss I am.

She didnt have the procedure. She had nothing to eat for 24 hours and then... Nothing! I don't know what's happening now I was too preoccupied with the cat! Anyway she's stil in and no idea what or when she will be home but I believe she's in the right place.
I have another funeral to go to today. (My ex colleague who died from cancer quite unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago.) DS2 is visiting Mum for me today. Bless him. His evidence for the Grefell enquiry should have been today but it's been deferred as it's taking a lot longer for everyone to give ther evidence than initially thought. He just wants it over now!

Sorry to be a moaning Minnie recently. I'm so glad you lot are here to listen but I wish I had some more positive news at the moment! Sorry for those that read both this thread and the GBH thread as I know I repeat myself but there are some people in here that don't go there and vice versa.

Oh Elaine, you’re going through it aren’t you, no problem coming here to let off steam you can’t bottle it all up inside. Big hugs xx

Are those alliums quite tall ? I have some that look like that, never heard of canal thistle name. Mine reproduce everywhere at a tremendous rate, in fact i now pull them out if they’re in the wrong place !
I wanted to share this picture of my ‘triffid’ growing in the compost - seems to be a cucumber plant, there’s potatoes growing there too! Our village store gives me all their fruit/veg waste, and most goes straight on the compost - it seems to be a good place to grow things

And one for the prompts, white - if you look closely it is covered in bugs !

Better go and get ready for work, I got moaned at for being late yesterday !
Have a nice day, look after yourselves xx

Lol..did the 'boss' tell you off?
Thank goodness for zooming right in. I can make out the bugs quite clearly when I do that. Great shot.
Yes the alliums are quite tall. A good three feet I would say.
Here is another water one from last Friday.

    Morning all,
Good photos Alison. Free veg from nothing, can’t be bad

You are quite entitled to moan Elaine, and if not to us, then Who !!
We don’t mind if it helps to unburden yourself.
Glad your mom is a bit better. Wonder why they didn’t do the test?
Don’t worry Elaine for every negative there is a positive, although it
may not seem like it at the moment. I’m sure it will get better
    Keep your chin up.
    Ellie

Wow Elaine, that is bad, it doesn't surprise me though. They had my dad in at 7am for an op and hubby took him, by noon still nothing and eventually sent him home as they said they couldn't do it and to come back the next day. Bear in mind we had mum at home end stage Alzheimer's so it was always like planning a military operation to get all the care in place and hubby not working meant no income for us. It is the blase, "come back tomorrow" after dad, at 90 being starved all that time and just the nerves involved waiting for an op. When hubby explained it wasn't that easy because of mum they just said "If you don't come in for 7am then you won't get the op done, end of!" They wouldn't even confirm that he'd get the op done the next day.

I hope you find out that they had a very good reason for not doing the procedure and what they intend to do next. Sorry, if I always go into a bit of a rant but I do feel for you and know exactly what you are going through as we lived with this for years, 13 years of being messed about. I know the pressure the NHS is under but it is the attitude of 'some' of the staff that is so bad. There are others who are simply amazing and thank goodness for them. You moan away Elaine, I'm still moaning and dad has been dead for over 4 years now but the memories linger on.

Alison we had a celery plant from last year and got rid of it after it flowered, it must have been about 3 feet tall by the time it went into recycling, we don't have room for a compost sadly. It had similar flower head, must check as I'm sure I took some photo's of it and the flowers were white.

We had rain, not a lot but we did have some last night. It is bright and sunny and hot again now but if it wants to rain at night that's great. Sadly, it probably wasn't enough to save watering and they are threatening a hose pipe ban here.

I love your water feature photo Ellie, is that in your garden?

I think we all want Amber's dress or at the very least patterned paper just like it.

Hubby was going to take the dogs out but since they were both fast asleep he decided to have a sleep with them. So he's on the sofa and I'm going in the shower, it has been a very late day today I didn't even wake up until 2pm, bad even by my standards and then we had the call from the hospital for his pre-op, just the usual nothing too dramatic. But I have to be there to answer the questions about his health because he gives all the wrong answers. I think because (touch wood) virtually everything they ask about his health is a no answer, they don't believe he can be so healthy. As far as we know anyway, none of us know what's going on inside us but fingers crossed he stays this way for as long as possible.
