    April week 3

    desert island.JPG

Thirty years ago this month Sue Lawley became the third presenter of Radio 4's Desert Island Discs. It is the UK's longest running radio programme and has featured over 3,000 guests since beginning life on Forces' Radio in 1942. If you have never heard it, guests are invited to imagine themselves cast away on a desert island, and choose eight music tracks to take along with them, together with one book, one luxury, The Bible and the complete works of Shakespeare.

So ... your page should feature

~ a list of 8 of your favourite music tracks or books or a mixture of books and music; 10 points

~ a photo of yourself or your luxury item or something inspired by one of the choices from your list; 10 points

~ three or more different sea/beach related embellishments; waves, sea gulls, boats, an anchor, beach huts, etc; 10 points

I thought this would be impossible for me, I don't listen to music and I don't read now-a-days
but then I looked through my bedroom bookcase and found I had lots and lots of books about cats. OK I could run with that but then HOW DO I ADD SOMETHING BEACH/SEA RELATED?????? Help anyone any ideas I hate to be beaten

No music at all, Mary? No church music, hymns ? I included Handel's Messiah as one of my tracks because I was lucky enough to sing it in a choral concert in St Albans cathedral and also because I think it's awesome

Mary, imagine you’re on a desert island - no cats - at least you have your books !

I'll sing lots of Christian songs choruses etc but not really listen to them being played IYSWIM the ones I sing are usually ones that the Lord gives me either through my bible reading or more often into my head I don't think I could make a page that is cohesive using them. and to tell the truth the only book I would want with me on a desert island would be the bible it's the only one that speaks volumes and never stops speaking truths. Although I haven't listened to Desert Island Disc for years I know that is the one book they used to say not to quote as one of your books

OK I have managed it - finally
and I had a blast but it took forever.

I did do my 8 bits of music (but just for fun I admitted I cheated and added 8 books)

    Fab challenge

I've cheated too my music is the natural sounds that would be around me if I was stranded all alone on a desert island.
