DL card name and happy birthday swirl

    screen shot for UKS (2).jpg

This card looked so good when I finished it, and then stupidly I forgot to take photos, I'm gutted.
I don't know what kind of card it is called, it is when you close the card there is half the name going past the hinge of the card IYKWIM
I used white velvet/velour type sticky back paper, then I used a pen (Sharpie) to colour it red and stick it onto white card.

I'm sure it was one of Lucille's tutorials, most of what I know is because of Lucille, she left a big hole on this earth when she had to go

Card looks great Grace and you are so right about Lucille - she is sorely missed. I think I would describe your card as a sort of pop up but maybe there is another name for this type of design

Not to worry Grace. I would have moved it for you but it seems I can't for some reason

I think Sylvia is right, Lucille used to refer to these as pop ups or pop outs. A lovely design Grace.

Sorry I've been absent, been preparing for hospital, which ended up being a farce, I was supposed to go in overnight with general anaesthetic, I was getting a steroid injection in my hip, it happened so differently, in and out same day with a local anaesthetic, stupid consultant getting me wound up for nothing.
Anyway, Doreen, I thought of pop-up but I also knew that one in the link was a pop-up, so thought that was not it.

Thank you Shirley, I will have to update the details, as I altered a font, mmmm, must check out the legalities of it first.

Thanks SylviaF maybe it could be called Over The Top......answers on a postcard please.......

It's understandable you were worried Grace but I expect you were relieved to come home the same day. You could be right about over the top or maybe over the edge but whatever it's called it's lovely. There's another popup tut here but it's using Inkscape http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/...pUp-Card-46-47

I would say you've hit the nail right on the head Doreen, because that came to mind today about how I was thinking it may have been done in Inkscape, and going by the picture I'm sure that's it, well done you x

Oh Doreen I don’t think I’ve used Inkscape since the software changed from GSD to Studio, then I didn’t do much designing more just cutting.
