Wow, I've missed a lot on here. Miss A looks her usual adorable self. Can't believe the difference in the weather, your poor Hellebores Ellie, they were looking so pretty. In a day or two I'll get a photo of our Camellia which is blooming now, just. It is miserable and wet here and we are still feeling very down over yesterday's visit to our neighbour. Neither of us seem to be able to shake it off, not sure why and we both feel wiped out too, not sure why that is either. Going to have to give ourselves a good kick up the backside I think.

Also, just when we hadn't had the heating on much for a few days, I now find I need it back on, maybe it's because we both feel really tired today.

Love that word Mary, hubby used to use that a lot and it describes Amber to a T, a little poppet.

We’ve had the heating on all day , I seem to have acquired a cold!!
Sometimes you do get days like that Susie.
I wouldn’t beat yourself over the neighbour, especially if she has Alzheimers
It must be very difficult for everyone concerned. As you say ,she won’t remember
next time you go, and you will have a better visit.

I know you're right Ellie and I'll probably feel better tomorrow. I'm sure this miserable weather isn't helping, I'd rather have the snow than this rain. The dogs would too, they hate going out in this and we all come in soaked and they stink of wet wool and boy dog smells, which are definitely smellier than girl dogs, at least in OES breed.

I hope your cold doesn't hand around too long, they're such miserable things aren't they.

I've booked myself in to a Premier Inn in York for the end of June, it was a struggle to get it done as it crashed on me once and even when it didn't I still had to enter things twice but it is done and paid for so hopefully I will enjoy it

York is lovely Mary. Plenty of things to photograph. Theres a shop in York called the Cat Gallery sells everything cat related for both cats and humans. Don't think theres any papercraft stores unless theres a HC or the Range. If you want some ideas of where to visit let me know and Ill give you some pointers.

You will love York Mary. Lots to see and do.
If you like trains there is the National Train Museum. Which is
interesting. There’s a Royal carriage in there to look at.
The cat shop sounds good for you and Sandra
Premier Inns are usually ok. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Premier Inns are good for females staying on their own. They wont put you on the ground floor or at the end of a corridor. They really do care about your safety.

I visited York years ago with John my DH and really enjoyed but I don’t seem to have any photos of the visit which is a shame. I remember the Norvik experience, we walked into he walls, the shambles should be fun to photograph too not sore about the railway museum we have one in Swindon which I have visited but once seen not worth another visit

Sorry about that Mary and Sandra, I mentioned the visit over on the card thread, never mind as Scarlett O'Hara said "Tomorrow is another day". I'm sure we'll both feel better by then. I'm at the hospital for results of the Echocardiogram so I'm taking my knitting in case there's a wait. I can't concentrate on a book but I can concentrate of knitting, funny isn't it.

You're a real little gadabout Mary, I've noticed lately I am coming out with a lot of these old expressions. Anyway, I'm glad that you managed to get the booking sorted in the end. I'm sure you will be in the cat shop in York though.

One of our neighbours has lost her cat and it was spotted last Thursday but hasn't been seen since. It is a 'house cat' which makes it more of a worry as it isn't used to being out and about. We have been keeping an eye out for it but it is such an awful thought that it is out in this awful wet weather. At least she has put leaflets through every letter box in the area so people will know who to contact if they see it.

Talking of cats, did any of you see the programme Trust Me, I'm A Vet, earlier on today? Part of it was to do with diabetic cats which don't respond to insulin and they've found it is because of a tumour on the pituitary gland. The only treatment is to remove the gland which means medicating to keep up the function of the gland that is missing. They believe it is caused by home products, such as carpets, soft furnishings and the like and the fire retardants they use in them and other substances. I know carpets always had formaldehyde in them and if this stuff is making cats ill will it be humans next. Who'd have thought that their sofa could be killing them. Very interesting programme and worth watching, I have set it to a series link. It wasn't just about cats, they covered problems with dogs, tortoises and reptiles too oh and bunnies.
