Lovely photos Elaine. They were huge bouquets ,weren’t they?
It’s not often you see bridesmaids sitting down either.

You are the image of your mum Elaine. These days we would insist on having what we want but back then you went with what the florist told you, you got to choose your main flower and that was it really. How times have changed. I love the crowns at the top of you seating plan Elaine, very appropriate. My best friend's married name is King but they are in South Wales.

I was just looking back to mum and dad's photo's and noticed the huge chrysanthemums her bridesmaid had!

Let's see if I can post my niece's photo's again.

What a lovely setting for wedding photos Susie.
She looks beautiful. Is she your niece, or hubbys, because she looks like you.

She's my niece Ellie and we adore her. She is the sweetest, kindest, most generous and funny person you could wish to meet. I always say to her "you're as beautiful on the inside as the outside'. Do I sound a tad biased?

She bought matching frames from Dunelm and framed her place setting and wedding invites and the poem her mum wrote, which I typed up to match all the other wedding stationery. I'll post the poem if I can because this is from the heart from a mother to her daughter on her Wedding Day. All you mum's out there will just get this! The 'tender blessings from above' refers of course to mum and dad who had died a couple of years before her wedding.

Not sure if that will work, I typed it in iPages but saved it as a DPDF document so if you click it, it may download and you can read it. But I'll try a screenshot and see if that opens here okay.

    I can see that.

Yes Ellie, it looks good for a cemetery doesn't it! It is a lovely setting for wedding photo's and only a few yards down the road from the church.

Beautiful poem Susie... Really moving. She is the image of you! A beautiful girl. Lovely photos. I meant to say before that I loved your wedding photo too..lovely cake too.
I will see if I can find a picture of mine. My Uncle worked at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London and he got the chef from there to make my cake for me..it was far posher than we could ever have afforded normally. Lol

Thanks Elaine. Her mum wrote that from the heart and I asked if it could be read at the wedding. Well, Father of the Bride gets to have his say, Best Man does and so does Father of the Groom if he wishes but the mother's who've done all the hardwork from birth to the most important day in their son's or daughter's life (well one of them) don't get much of a look in. Trouble was, then my niece asked me to read it. Well, there was barely a dry eye in the house, least of all mine. It was very hard to read it without crying because you could feel the love in every word. It looks beautiful in its gold frame now.

I will have to get my album out I think to see if I can find a close up of the cake. You were so lucky to be able to have a cake made like that I'd love to see it. Our neighbour started out as a patisserie chef and has been a chef in quite a few well known hotels. Even cooked for royalty out in the Channel Islands. He ended his career back in Liverpool (when his mum became elderly) and he arranged our reception and evening reception even though he was a guest at the wedding, so mainly gave instructions to the sous chef. He made the cake, decorated the church and even hand wrote the wedding invitations.

A few years before we didn't know each that well but then his house got completely flooded. I suggested he came to stay the night with us and FIVE MONTHS later he was still there! When we decided to get married and do it all in one month, he helped so much to make it happen and got us a fantastic deal on the price. The cake alone (like yours) would have cost a fortune.

No Susie. A friend offered to take the photos, and having no money, we accepted.
But when they were developed, they were all blurred and unrecognisable !!
something wrong with the camera, he said!!

Oh I think I remember you mentioning that Ellie, that is so sad. Hubby's mum and dad didn't have photo's either.

Denise, that is such a lovely thing to say, but it's one of those occasions when I can say "You should've gone to Specsavers!" Very sweet that you think so, but soooo not true.

I was supposed to be looking for photo's and ended up dusting some of the drawers in my craft room. Thick with dust, no wonder I have allergies. It is such a mess and asking hubby to help was a huge mistake, because all he kept saying was "You'll never use all of this". I kept saying, "Well, I didn't buy that it was a freebie off a magazine". I must have had LOTS of freebies.

I sent him off to Taskers to buy some, can't remember the name of it, not a spindle, think it begins with a D. A rod to put through my ribbons to make a ribbon holder??? Anyway, sadly they've closed down. Such a shame it was a great shop. We do have one a few miles further away but that was so handy. I suppose this is the problem when people are buying online. In Taskers you could have anything cut to size.

The other thing I want to make is storage for my Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens. I hardly use them because they are hidden away, but now I can stamp I want to use them, but get fed up rooting through the RUB's so I need them on display. They showed some good ideas on Pinterest, so I now have a few jobs lined up for him.

It won't look even remotely like your stunning craft room Elaine, but if I could walk in without tripping over something I'd be happy.

I told my sister about your lovely compliments about her poem, she was really delighted. Especially as her daughter is going in for surgery tomorrow and they won't know until they get in there exactly what they are dealing with. So everything is crossed for a good outcome.
