I’ve had it practically since I started scrapping, so I’m .
What kind of trimmer do you all use and recommend.

Love the potato Mary, so 'romantic'! What's all this about a mouse problem, did I know about it? We had one under the stairs and put in what we call the disco lights, also put the dogs' food in plastic bins because that was what attracted them. Neither of us could hurt them and the disco lights worked a treat, especially once we'd removed the encouraging food supply.

Oh how sweet about the heart Denise, I wonder who it was from.

Ellie, I love your craft room, it is tidy and so interesting and no matter what you say, compared with my room it is tidy!

Need to get these dogs out so I can come back and do a bit more sorting out. I was still up at 1am so cleared one side of my desk which was simply pieces of card stock that I had cut dies from and then couldn't bear to waste the left overs. Well, they're in the bin. Any bits I could cut off in that were in gold or silver card I have saved to my bits box but the rest went into the bin. I feel so much better for that.

Next I want to clear the two boxes of half made cards and cut dies and sort them out. That will give me my desk back to work on. Then in the next day or so I will tackle that shelf with the Martha Stewart punches. My first box of ribbon is done so will show you a photo of that and I'll do before and afters of my desk area. That will certainly go towards 'what I did today'.

If I can get this all done, as best as I can without removing everything oh especially the carpet, it is is disgraceful, I've dropped ink pads on it and they always fall face down, nice black marks, loads of dust and of course doggy marks too, I was saying if I can get this done by the end of February, I will have a clear space for making the Mother's Day card, birthday cards and some scrapping.

I had to laugh at your post Susie. Mary’s mouse problem is a computer one, not a rodent one

Well done in sorting your craft stuff. I’m sure you will get it done.
I think you are the kind of person who will do what you say you will do,
    even if it takes time

Been looking at your craft room pictures and they are all palaces compared to mine. On Friday they filmed me, the finance expert and another expert in my craft room and we could only just squeeze into the tiny space I had cleared. You will all have a shock when you see the programme. I'm too ashamed to take a photo of it to show you on here, LOL! I've got to sort my room out box by box and anything I don't use in the next 2 months I must get rid of and they are taking me to a craft fair on the 17th March to do some more filming this time with Dominic Littlewood. The took me to 4 different places yesterday for filming, which was really enjoyable and the came again this morning to finish off. I feel totally exhausted, but it was a very good and positive experience for me and has made me much more aware of what I have been wasting my money on. From now on, I will be saving as much as I can.

Oh that was so funny Ellie! So what's wrong with the mouse then?

Oh boy, for Christmas, one of the presents hubby didn't know he'd bought me was the Cutterpillar Pro. It is amazing, but I did have a few tweaks I'd have made. It has a self sharpening blade, a light so you can see even in the dark right through card stock to take minute amounts of paper off. Very stable, good guide and it's lovely and square, which if you've ever had a trimmer that wasn't straight you'll know how important that is. This one has a drawer underneath which I don't actually use but may in the future. One thing I did complain about and it is something you get used to, it doesn't have a rail to hold the paper down so you use your fingers. It's not the end of the world but I would have preferred one and have made that known. It is accurate and you can take of a sliver of paper brilliantly but it is very expensive at the moment.

There is a Cutterpillar Crop which is more portable and has an arm that swings out to support larger pieces of card stock but since mine doesn't go anywhere I got the bigger one for 12x12 card stock. They reckon this is the last cutter you will ever need to buy and I hope so because I have had quite a few over the years. The only one I do occasionally use is the guillotine/trimmer from Staples. It was cheap but the guillotine is sharp as can be and comes in handy for cardboard. Check out the YouTube video's but they are about 50 dearer now than when I got mine.

I loved my Fellowes trimmer, it was metal and have nearly broken my foot more than once when I dropped it but sadly they stopped making the blades and now have stopped making the metal trimmers. When they were demonstrating this trimmer I felt they were talking about me "Do you have numerous trimmers, none of which really work, some don't cut straight, you can't get the blades yet you never throw them away - just in case' this was me exactly. I actually had 3 Fellowes trimmers because the first one didn't cut straight so they sent me another. I really did put them through their paces though. I was making the charity cards, so I was cutting 290 gsm card stock around 2000 sheets and then 2000 sheets of copy paper for inserts for each Christmas. That was apart from all the cutting I did the rest of the year, so you can imagine my printers and trimmers took an absolute hammering, it was more like a cottage industry than a bit of crafting.

I doubt I will ever make the charity cards again now, so I just needed a good, strong, sharp cutter and since this blade resharpens itself with every cut, it should last for ever or outlast me at the very least.

Right, dogs are walked and it was spitting down all the way round but we enjoyed it anyway. Just off to check on neighbour, pop some washing on, trims dogs' nether regions and then I will be able to get started sorting. I won't be able to rest if I know I have other stuff I should be doing.

Do let me know about your mouse problem Mary?

I can't wait to see this Sheila. When we changed banks the lady said to me pay for everything on your credit card but pay it off every month, so I set up a standoing order to do just that. When the bill comes in I am horrified to see where the money is going and believe it or not (apart from craft stuff) it is silly things like Home and Bargain, Asda, Pets at Home and all the little shops we use at Penny Lane. It is a little and I mean little shopping centre but very handy, but the amount of times we go is staggering. H&B is mainly for kitchen towels, bird food, soap powder, bottles of water, I won't drink our tap water because the pipes in the wall are the old lead pipes and I, like mum drink a lot of water and she ended up with Alzheimer's and I've always wondered if the lead contamination had something to do with it. Sorry I digress, so it is interesting to see where your money is going Sheila.

As for your craft room, I have to clear my floor too yet, I bet your craft room is tidier than mine. I haven't even shown the worst bits, there is tonnes of stuff in here so don't feel bad. It does sound extremely exhausting but I'm glad you enjoyed it at the same time.

Is your mouse wi-fi Mary or is it connected by cable?

Don't worry about the craft room Mary, I defy anyone to have one as messy as mine and I am a tidy person by nature, so this is haunting me. It is not something I'm proud of trust me, I'm so ashamed of it I won't let anyone other than hubby and my sister in.
