There is so much to keep up with. That looks like the flush on a toilet these day Sheila. One of those you don't have to touch.

I have wooden rulers from school days Mary and I also have the exact one in metal that you showed, so I knew straightaway what it was.

So it is a shotgun cartridge, never knew they came in different colours Ellie. I think Mary has to share that result with me, because she did mention the starting pistol first.

Not a bottle brush, but it certainly does look like one.

Who said a tortoises shell, you got it in one. His name is Ben, he's a real old man. Isn't he handsome and not impressed having his photo taken from the looks of it.

Mary, your latest one could be as someone, was it Sheila, I'm getting confused, suggested a hot water bottle, or along those lines could it be a bed warmer of some other kind, which is filled with hot water.

Okay, Sandra, it looks like a doorknob but I don't think it is. It reminds me of a baby's dummy but they stick out at the end not in, top of a sippy cup maybe, or even some sort of crafty cutting tool. I keep looking at that little piece on the right that looks as though it opens somehow. Am I getting colder or warmer?

Is it on your washing machine Mary, I have a thing like that to remove the gunk !
Sheila, yours looks a bit like a knob on a cooker ?
Sandra, a top to a drinks cup ? No, I think it maybe the top to a bottle of sunscreen ?!

    Here's one from me...

Some sort of tin/bottle opener Alison?

Mary, is yours old, something like the top to an old flagon? Now there's a word that gives away your age! You both did well guessing the tortoise shell, but don't forget the bottle brush that isn't one!

I think we crossed there Alison. They are wonderful creatures aren't they, he's quite old and belongs to my niece's in-laws. The photo reminds me of Victor Meldrew.
