Beautiful cats Denise, I just love that soft ginger colour of Jack Ginger.

Ellie, you barrel pond is wonderful, all the plants look so healthy. Ours are starting to go over or is it that the snails are simply destroying them.

Evening..been busy again you lot. So,e great cat photos and your barrel pond is very pretty Ellie..as are your hibiscus too Susie.
Mary that leaf photo is amazing!
I took this today. Food of sorts..squirrel food
    And a couple of eggs!

I asked the farmer why he parked the combine harvester there and he said because they've had so much diesel stolen when they leave it in a field that they thought we wouldn't mind keeping an eye on it! As its tucked right out of sight around a corner it was double protection. I feel quite protective of it now..although it's still there and I'd like to see it gone. Not much chance of that though..pouring again tonight and lightening storms too.
It was dry today though and DH took dying cherry tree down and I helped clear it all..it was so humid..our bonfire pile is HUGE! Once the combine harvester has moved we will have to have a fire to get rid of it all. I finally sat down at about 8 o'clock! 13000 steps and 8.9km walked today..phew

I know you won't believe this Elaine, but the thought did occur to me that you might be keeping an eye on it for him without realising it - honestly. I just wondered if he'd left it there so you would notice if anyone came near yet I couldn't understand why I was thinking this because I have no idea of the lay of the land so to speak. I'm glad that was the reason and it wasn't to annoy you or anything and I'm glad you've got it sorted or will have very soon. How awful that people are stealing the diesel and it will be red diesel too so if anyone other than a farmer or on construction vehicles or boats is caught using it they will be fined as it is illegal. In Liverpool the taxi's could be checked by the Hackney to make sure they were using legit diesel.

I love your 'food' photo's, the eggs are amazing and well spotted with the acorns. We used to take our last dog to Arrowe Park around September/October and collect acorns, it was a cheap way of feeding the squirrels in the winter. Of course, we paid the price as there are oak trees popping up all over the place now.

Here is another food one from me, day 6 I think of the celery growing experiment.

That celery is amazing..love that you are keeping us informed.
Yes you're right about red diesel. I don't think the type that steal it though will worry about being fined!
Really heavy mist here this morning..very autumnal but the sun is trying to break through!

Sorry Elaine, silly me, I was thinking like a law abiding citizen, how stupid of me! You are absolutely right, people like that have no respect for anything let alone the law. I hope your sun arrived and the tractor can be moved, good heavens who'd have thought you'd be baby sitting a tractor as well as the beautiful Miss A.

Ellie, I'm like a little kid anyway with this celery, so is hubby, maybe we are going back into our second childhood. Mind you, hubby hasn't finished his first yet. Another photo will be forthcoming later, especially if it has grown even more. Now the discussion is what to do with all the celery we've grown outside. I draw the line with having troughs and tubs of the stuff in the house though. I suppose we could cut them out and give them to my niece and our neighbour for their kiddies and granddaughter respectively. At least then we know it is all organic and they can have the fun of watching it grow. Because it grows so quickly there is something magical about it - dear me I sound pathetic.

Has that cake got icing on it Mary, because if it has you'd have a fight on your hands with my hubby? Anything with icing he just loves, icing and custard. I just love the way you treat yourself and it makes shopping so much more pleasurable.

I'm amazed the pigeon won, those magpies can be such bullies.
