I think the card is lovely Ellie, but the fact that you aren't 100% sure means maybe to try a butterfly somewhere as Denise said and you'll know then if it is needed or not. Sometimes simple is the hardest thing to do and when I place something on a card I suddenly realise that it either needs it or doesn't. Such a sad card to have to make and they are never easy are they. Maybe try a tiny butterfly on the corner of the sentiment. You'll know when you're happy with it. Possibly a tiny pearl, if you have any on the tip of the fronds. Pearls can add a finsihing touch to something without being blingy.

Mary, iron or not they are worth taking a photo of, really lovely detail in the railings too.

We have been at my sister's today doing her garden and there isn't a bit of me that isn't aching, especially back and hips. Just off to water the garden and then bed.

    Thanks for the suggestions Susie,
I feel it does need something. I will try the pearls, good idea.

Why are you watering the garden at such a late hour, you should be in bed
Hope all your aches and pains ease .
I cannot sleep, it's just too hot and sticky!!!
Going to read a chapter of my book, see if that will do the trick.

Love the simplicity of your card Ellie, perfect for the occasion. As Susie says, if you feel it needs something try Denise's idea of adding a butterfly
I often water my plants late at night, especially when it's so hot. Hope my plants are being watered while I'm away, I keep sending reminders !

I thought of you ladies when I included dogs in my photos, but there were a lot around so very representative of the area. Most of the homes are brick/concrete built but are unfinished to avoid paying extra taxes !
I loved the contrast of the colourful washing against all the greyness.
I think the flower is a hibiscus

Morning snappers. Mary a friend on a FB group suggested putting a bottle of cold water in front of the fan as apparently it cools the air slightly might be worth a try.

Strangely enough, we are sleeping like logs at the moment, mind you, we both take a little bit of time release melatonin and got to bed about midnight, had a read and the next thing I knew it was almost 10am. Even the dogs hadn't woken us. Suffering today after the gardening but a pain killer will help ease the pain and on we go. Hubby is back working on the deck, just as he finished he poked at a board and it went into a hole so another piece to repair. As soon as he's done I'm going to organise the pots and tubs on the deck. It's watering them on there that's causing it to rot over time but hey ho, what can you do.

We are probably being drugged by the heat in our room and that's why we are sleeping so well.

It's very warm in the house but much cooler outside today and a fair bit of cloud too. As Denise said, drink plenty of water, it's so easy to forget to do that and I have to keep reminding my hubby, especially as he's working outside.

I will look forward to seeing it Ellie. I always think pearls can have either an elegant look about them or just gentle touch to add to a card. I always keep a lot of pearls in, mostly 2mm or 3mm.

I lied about the weather, it hasn't gone cooler, well it had, but now it's heating up again. Must go and make sure hubby is drinking water or he'll forget and working outside he really needs to keeping topping up the tank, so to speak.

It's cooler here today , thank goodness. It was awful last night.

Here is my card, I don't think it needs anything else.
I did try a butterfly, but a stamped image was too flat looking, and
the only other ones I have were too big. I did try cutting them down,
    but only made them worse...
    Thanks for the suggestion.
