Upgrading to Design Studio

Okay, so I have my new Cameo 3 and, being the impatient kinda gal that I am, I purchased a code to upgrade to Design Studio via Etsy so that I can buy SVGs etc and get instant results while I'm getting to grips with the software.

So, when I imput the code I'm getting the message 'licence code is not valid' The seller is one my friends have used without issue and I have emailed to get further advise but due to the time differences the response won't be for a while.

My question is, as I am aware that others have purchased this without issue, am I possibly doing something wrong?! The directions to upgrade were:

1. Download and install the most recent version of Silhouette Studio from silhouetteamerica.com/software - check
2. Open Silhouette Studio on your computer. - check
3. Click the "Upgrade to Designer Edition" option under the HELP menu - it only says 'renew/upgrade', no mention of Designer Edition
4. Type your 16 digit license key code into the panel that appears!

Any suggestions welcome x

When you say the latest edition of Studio do you mean V3 because V4 is still being tested. If it's V3 you've done it right and yes it does just say upgrade and that's what the upgrade is apart from the business edition which is quite a lot dearer.

Yes, I have definitely made sure I've downloaded V3 - thanks for answering so quickly Doreen.

At least I know I haven't done it wrong somehow, I only hope that the seller gets back to me now with a resolve to it....

Daisychain just a thought but did you copy the code in exactly and used capitals not lower case?

Yes, I even copied and pasted straight across just in case I was doing something wrong.

The seller has just come back to me and apologised, it was a typo on her end, phew! Panic over and now fully upgraded

Glad you got it sorted, I think it is really worth the upgrade, you can do so much more with the designer edition.

Daisychain so glad you are all sorted now. Some of the extras in DE you have to turn on in preference like the cross hairs.

Something I never use is the crosshairs and I find the grid distracting when it's on

I turn the cross hairs on when I need them to line up images accurately.

I'm using V4 Margaret and the icons are down the side of the page..... as you know they're along the top in version 3 but they look the same.....the red box is around the transform option
