I have enlarged your photo Susie, and your Aquilegia is a paler purple than the ones I pulled out.
They were really dark purple with a lighter purple centre. I think that they had reverted to
their wild species. They looked really drab, hence the outing of them

I love aquilegia too..but also prefer the paler ones.
I went to a local Historic house earlier with Miss A. I hope to have lots of photos to show once they've downloaded from the cloud

Because of the size of the photo the blackbird and especially the sparrow are barely visible on the photo. As for the Aquilegia, I thought it was going to be a large bright coloured flowering variety but this looks more like a wild variety to me, very disappointing but it's growing and I hate to tear out anything that has gone to the trouble of living, except for weeds of course. I will probably do what I did last time and buy the seeds and grow from seeds instead, that way I can choose exactly what I want and it costs next to nothing to do it. Unfortunately, I have three of these growing round the garden!:roll eyes:

I think I mentioned our neighbour's GD, another Amber would you believe, such a little sweetie who is into her craft. Well, she received so many Easter eggs her mummy decided they were going to bake with them. Here is a photo of one of the cakes we received from Amber. Hubby pinched one of the eggs off mine. They tasted like they had a whole Easter egg in each cake, so rich and so delicious. It took me four attempts to eat this and in the end had to give the rest to hubby for fear my gallbladder would kick off again. So another Easter photo though not in the same class as your's Mary. I think they used Lindt chocolate.

I know there are no shadows ,but this is a photo of a painting that I saw
in the convent Gallery in Daylesford, near Ballarat.
It was so big and impressive that I took a photo.

Ps. Sorry it's so big, I did resize it before posting, but it's still large!!!!

Wow, great painting Ellie, very unusual with the rose background.
I love that aquilegia, I don't seem to be able to grow them here, they always look puny.

YUm yum Susie I bet that was hard to resist but better not to suffer later so sensible well done
I the same with plants in the garden cant bear to prune back so tend to leave but then its silly cos they go woody and cant save then if prune too far
I have a creepy weedy thing growing at the gate but its made its way on an old basket chair I set off with the clippers as it near a rose but thought no it looks pretty but going to have to pluck up courage !
Thats is really impressive Susie he looks alive though I wouldnt want it on my wall staring at me its a fabulous painting

And here is a photo I took today while out on a hen do where we went pottery painting followed by afternoon tea. The studio we did the painting in had lots of animals in..what can be more Spring like than tulips and lambs in the same photo?

Such lovely photo's Elaine and what a lovely spot. That Wisteria is impressive almost as tall as little Amber. Is it just growing along the ground?
