great thatch roof well done on capturing it and very well done to the thatchers
Susie have you posted a photo of your Dogs? I take it they are Old English Sheep Dogs cos I can't think what else OES stands for

I have a photo I want to share though it doesn't fit into any of the categories but I took it this morning on my way up to the library and thought of a title for it 'My sunshine in the Rain' and one of my friends picked up a book with just that title.

Oh, that is just lovely Mary, where on earth did you see it? Hasn't that kitten got the most fabulous eyes! I think that photo fits very nicely into the wonderful category; I bet it made you smile.

You're right about the breed and I have to be careful about posting because they are rescues, there are rules and regulations, which is why I don't mention their names. Mind you, the previous owners might not recognise them now.

You're right about the thatchers, if you had a thatch that needed doing you'd want them to do it, absolutely brilliant job.

We were having an early night tonight until hubby struck. First, he smashed a glass, which is easily done, but that meant having to very carefully clean work surfaces and floor because those shards fly everywhere and the last thing we need is the dogs cutting their paws. Then, I looked inside the kettle just in case he was going to drink tea with broken glass in it in the morning and I might get arrested for killing him, which may happen yet. Kettle looked hideous, so I stuck bicarb in it and he boiled it up and it exploded all over the work surfaces, I did tell him the kettle was making a funny noise but would he listen. The mess was unbelievable, water and foam everywhere. So, here we are an hour and a half later, just about to go to bed. On the cup half full side, the kitchen is sparkling clean!

It is well known in the family that hubby has these moments and everyone finds it hilarious but it sort of isn't when you are trailing round after him clearing up the disasters.

    Good morning Snappers
Your husband is a disaster zone
The umbrella is mine I've had it years I wish I could remember where I got it from. You can even use it when it's a bit windy unlike the small fold up ones

Couldn't have put it better myself Mary, the family call him Mr. Pastry! Now, there's a blast from the past. He can never understand how I can tell which rooms he's been in just following the wake of mess he leaves behind. Remember when he decided to be helpful before Christmas and wash my gorgeous M&S throw, the scream when I asked where it was and he said 'in the tumble dryer' must have reverberated round the whole of Liverpool. It was a ball of, well not quite sure how to describe it really, just a ball with huge pulls all over it as if a cat or lion more like it, had gone berserk 'baking' as they call it, completely destroyed, there was nothing I could salvage from it.

He pruned my neighbour's crab apple tree the other day and I could have cried when I saw it. The words don't put colours in with the whites/delicates, simply mean nothing to him. I could go on and on - but apart from being a disaster zone he is really wonderful and a very kind person and makes me laugh (when I'm not crying that is).

The umbrella is really wonderful and it looks like new. We have a golfing umbrella and have no idea where that came from either.

Very mixed day here today, sunny one minute and threatening rain the next. So my beloved is out mowing the lawn and the neighbour's, he should be safe enough on his own doing that but I'd better check he has the breaker switch on - just in case. Need to get the dog's out before it rains too, last night they both hid when it was time for their last walk, do other people's dogs dislike going out in the dark as much as ours? I think it's a throwback to being left out in the dark.

Had to laugh at your description Susie. Your DH sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
No wonder you are a worrier!! but as you say, he makes you laugh, and that is
    a precious commodity

Mary, love your photo. Very different. Clever of you to think of it..
    Ellie

Meant to say, my DH is the same when he gets a pair of shears or cutters
in his hands. Doesn't know when to stop !!!!!

Good job neither of them are hairdressers, hey Ellie!

You can see him on YouTube these days. The internet is certainly very handy isn't it.

I hope you get your computer sorted soon Denise, it is such a pain when these things go wrong.

Have you done your shopping Mary? Have you ever tried on-line shopping? I haven't but my sister has when she's been ill, I like to go and poke things and check out sell by dates and I like my steak well marbled so if they sent me something lean I wouldn't be happy. In other words, I'm not sure how it all works, must ask my sister.

I am full of cold today, I haven't been poorly with anything in so long that I'd forgotten how miserable they can make you feel.

It is chilly here today and even with thick coats the dogs were curled up like cats, so we put the heating on for them and the fire and now they are stretched out luxuriating in the warmth. One has his head on the hearth, that's his pillow, marble and uncomfortable but as close to the fire as he can get. It's a nice bright day so far so I may get out with them and see if there is anything to try out the camera on.

It's been raining all day here. Went to M&S this morning for a few things.
Well that was a wasted journey!! They hadn't got anything that I wanted,
even in the food hall they hadn't got what I wanted... I think that the shop
is going down hill. I used to be able to go in there and get the clothes in the
right sizes and lengths... now they are all too long, and the sizes vary.
Talked to two people in there, and they were of the same opinion!!!
    Rant over
Hope you can get out with your camera Susie.
Show me a dog that doesn't like laying infront of the fire

They are all gorgeous Viv. I must go and take a photo of my Camellia shortly before we have some horrendous weather to ruin it, that's what usually happens as soon as it flowers. I take it that is a Camellia? Glad to hear your laptop is sorted, long may it last.

Ellie, I have been telling the staff in Marks that whoever their buyer is needs taking out and shooting. There was a time I couldn't walk into that store without buying something, now it is depressing stuff, old fashioned and quite frumpy. I maybe 65 but I want to look modern, not 30ish modern but most of the women I know who are older than me wouldn't be seen dead in their stuff. My rant's over now too.

Didn't get out at all, in fact, I'm not dressed yet, busy making cards for hand delivery tomorrow. I have to go in the shower later so not much point getting dressed and no-one can see me, so who cares.

Good news, hubby's results came back and he got the all clear, no cancer cells in his biopsies. He still has to go back in a few months but some breathing space for him until then.

    Right, back to the cards!
