Oh that's not good about he glue Susie. I hope you manage to get it sorted.
Re the vellum, I usually use my favourite, Pinflair on it and put a neat blob behind then add a pearl or button (depending on the size of blob) over the top to hide the glue from the front. Who doesn't like a pearl or button?
Cocker poo sounds cute too. I thought at first you meant they were selling it in Pets at Home! I was shocked, but then I realised you meant visiting the shop! I'm afraid I won't go in there because they won't sign a petition to stop puppy farming, which, in my view, is an abominable practice! They are a big force to be reckoned with yet they don't support the petition.. So I vote with my feet. I'm lucky there are three independent pet stores locally so I go to them.

Hope you have sorted your glue Susie. Its disappointing when you are looking forward to
getting something and then it doesn't do what you want.

Thanks for the tip about changing the colour. It's much better now, not as
muddy looking. The new die works perfectly
Just got to stick things down now.

    Hi I've made the card.
The one with the hearts across the top, I haven't stuck down, but
I think it's too dark, it looks more Christmas colours.
The next one I like .it's lighter and somehow simpler.
My youngest DD likes simple, in fact she will probably think this
is fussy So I think this is the best.
I did one an even lighter green ,but DH didn't like it!!!!
    What do you think.
    Ellie.
It's even got a splash of red on it

Hope yoiu get the glue sorted Susie its annoying when you have so much too but maybe like you say theres a knack to it
I going to restamp my poppy and colour it in promarker red I did ruby and it looks not right with the red embossing I am getting picky now its not for a crafter but once you notice something it sticks out like a sore thumb doesnt it
I like them both though it does look different in the different colours ELLie and it does look less fussy you're right in the paler colour 2nd card

Thank you Denise, that's what I thought.
I think the pro marker red would look good, a bit brighter.

Exciting times ahead Elaine. I would be terrified to move I think we have been here for so long. I do admire people who up sticks and we are always watching Escape to the Country and hubby and I can't understand why they aren't worried (if they're pensioners) about where the nearest hospital is! I moved a lot in my 20's-30's and I loved house hunting and packing etc... I think I should have been an estate agent.

I like the dark green Ellie, have you tried it without the heart border at the top, maybe just a few of those pretty red hearts. Then again, I also like the freshness of the pale green card. Such a great shade of red too.

I haven't tried the glue again as I've been working on the other wedding card. As usual, it is turning out completely different to what I planned. As soon as I decided to scrap what I was doing it all sort of fell into place. Well almost, I have a couple of versions of it because it is up to the groom's mum to decide which one she likes.

Also managed to get some cleaning done today, bleaching the bathroom and cleaning the blinds in our bedroom and a couple of walks with the dogs so off to bed now for a read.

Yes, I tried the heart, because it looked bare at the top, but don't like them.
They look tacky, so I will scrap that one to the bin!!!!

Can't wait to see your cards.

I think the corners need some pearls on the red but out of them

Great card Denise. Love the poppy, and the red panel is really striking.
I think something in the corners would set it off.

Oh Ellie, what are you putting in the bin, not one of the ones you posted surely? Can you not take the hearts off and use something else if we're talking about a different card. I tend to rip things apart and save as much as I can, sometimes just a tweak here and there can make all the difference between a card you aren't happy with and one you are. I'll bet it is just fine and you're doing what I do, being over critical of yourself!

Pretty birthday card Denise, I love the poppy. Is that the Tied Together embossing folder? I'm using the same one for my wedding card, not that you can see much of it really. I've used that as a Christening card background before now and put pearls on the joins which makes it really delicate looking. I would have liked to do it for the wedding card but there really isn't that much showing.

Yes cant you salvage the card Ellie save the bits it usually can be saved
I looked for some candi dots but not right colour but will keep it at hand and something will pop out could even put pearls on the embossed bit going up Its funny once you upload you can see whats missing I tried to cut down a lot of the poppy as it was covering the embossing
Both the folders are my friends which I embossed on on of our crafty days though they are both nice I have to admit I might invest We all use each others things thats nice but someone elses toys alway's seem better than your own I used all the Happy birthdays quite quick apart from this one as red was a colour I seem to shy away from but perfect for this challenge

Yes it's that card Susie. It's already in the bin!!
I'd already stuck the hearts on. It's ok I can always print another paper off.
If I start fiddling , I always make it worse. I like the light green version anyway
