Don't dump it, just add that white backing and it will all come together, like Elaine said. I was having a similar problem recently Ellie, (not sure if I mentioned this) I kept looking at a card I was making and it didn't look right. At this point I hadn't stuck anything down. In the end I rounded off the corners and that was it, that was all it needed but what a difference to the card and I couldn't believe it, something so simple changed it completely.

Nat, I love that card, it is as Ellie said, so clean and fresh and you could use that flower for just about any occasion.

Also love those bottle tags Elaine, what a lovely, personal detail to add to a present. Every year I think I'll make my own gift tags and never get round to it.

I'm playing around with digital images for cards at the moment. I've just found a lovely frame and an image with an Old English Sheepdog and Yorkie and they go really well together. I thought with a bit of backing paper they'd make nice little quickie cards. I've got two of my prototypes done so I may post those.

Ellie, the digi stuff is so easy. Just type in the image you want in Google, for me Old English Sheepdog then I click on images or have a look on Pinterest. Download your image and print it out.

All I did for the card above was find the frame and then the sheepdog image and sat one inside the other and typed on a greeting and printed it out. You could die cut the image to have a fancy frame if you wanted to. It is that easy and versatile because you can find any image you want and then print any greeting to go with it.

Susie love both the top two cards. The sheepdog is gorgeous, and the other one looks
better without the bow. I can actually feel the snow and frost on them, Brrrrr!!!
The digital one looks so good, I must give it a try.
Did you print it onto card?

Can't sleep and I see there are another 88 people on here at the moment who can't sleep either.

If you do get hooked on digi designs Ellie, there are lots of cd's with huge amounts of designs you can use. If I download anything off the internet I would only use it for personal use (copyright law and that sort of thing) but a lot of the cd's allow you to use the images on cards you may want to sell, such as charity cards. I'd have a play first and see how you get on. You can also buy digi images on line and simply download them, lots of options really.

Meant to say, yes I just printed on to a good card stock and layered it up as you would with any other card.

Sorry you cannot sleepSusie. I know what that's like.
Both DH and I don't sleep well, usually one of us is mooching around in
    the wee small hours!

I will give digital a try, but not until next week, I'm away for the weekend,
    so won't have time before.

Thanks for the lovely comments. It's nice to be back to regular crafting again - for as long as it lasts! lol

And so nice to see how active this thread is.

I've got another card over on my blog for the Christmas prompt but need to dash now - will share in the morning.

    Nov

Nats card gave me an idea, I cut up one of the corrugated trees, and
folded it, then stuck it to another tree. Thanks Nat.

Susie I have changed the paper on this card. Didn't like the patterned paper
last time. I have put white boarders as you and Elaine suggested, and it
    looks much better...
The sparkle on the white snowflakes is actually pine green to go with the trees,
but it doesn't show well in the photo.
    Thanks for your help..
    Ellie.

You're very welcome! It's one of my favourite techniques for symmetrical tree dies. They really pop out on the card but fold flat for posting.
Great job with the added sparkle on your card too!

Here's mine posted to the thread:
