Exclamation 2016 Card Challenge - August

    Hello everyone!

I'm putting this thread up a little early as I am going to have zero access to my PC much of this coming week while work continues on my new boiler installation and other bits and bobs related to it!

As usual, the prompts for this month are up on my blog together with some additional hints for how to interpret them on your cards - you can find them here. I also included a couple of youtube video links for some techniques that could translate nicely to a card project.

As always full info about this challenge can be found here in the January post.

Here are the images - hope you enjoy!

    Happy crafting!

    Thanks for that Nat.
Lots of inspiration in the dress, which is Lovely.
Just used the last scrap of my dark blue starry paper, which would have
been ideal, so will have to think again.

So I have made card in a bit of a hurry and just realised that I haven't finished it - ah well, it's too late because I gave to the recipients today! I made it a 3am when I couldn't sleep, you can probably tell.

So this has the butterflies and there was some turquoise in the dress and although I didn't use ribbon to embroider I did use ribbon and also used water colour pens to highlight the title so not bad for me!

Thanks Ellie. I think I meant to put a few gems on the sentiment but that was all really.

    Christmas card.

I have made one, which is more modern, and
one with a vintage feel, using the same die cut, but different PP.
I think if I make more, I will use a lighter colour card for the
    die cut .

    Gorgeous cards Frances, both lovely.
I'm a bit stuck for the dress one, will have to put more thought into it.

They are both lovely cards Ellie and Frances.

Funnily enough Ellie that is the die I have cut but I haven't had time to put it on a card yet, still busy with birthday cards. I love that die though and I've cut it out of gold linen card.

Yes it is a nice die Susie.
Looking forward to seeing it in the gold card.
I only bought it the other week.

Actually, I used it last Christmas in silver and it was nice but for some reason I didn't post it on to UKS. I was just having a look at the photo and it is very grainy, poor light. I used it with a lovely embossed frame, all very sparkly. Since I only made one card like it last year, I may make a few more for this Christmas, it is such a lovely die.

Oooh I am loving these cards! Glad to see you are managing to get more crafting done than me at the moment.

My craft stuff is currently still relocated to crates and boxes while I continue painting my office/craft room and the hot weather hasn't helped at all - so behind with it but still working during the day so very little progress at the moment. I just desperately want everything back in there. LOL

Ellie, if you are still stuck for the dress one, how about using a dark background with a white/silver sentiment on it and some flicks of paint or a bling crystals dotted about for a very simple look or build it up with some fancy flowers? You could also go very literal and just feature elements you see on the dress like a tree with a bird in it or butterflies, etc.

Thanks for that Nat. I've just come back from holiday, so I will see
    what I can do.
